Have you found an online vendor selling Myers's Original Dark?
Please input the URL directly to the vendor page with the rum for sale and we will automatically show it on RumRatings
Myer’s Original Dark Rum is a blend of up to nine different rums of various ages, all of which are distilled using Jamaica's typical production method: pot-stills. The Original Dark Rum is slightly unique in Jamaica however, because some of the molasses used earlier in the process is added back in after distillation.
Myers rum has been produced since 1879 and named after its founder, Fred Myers.

Jako sipper není ohromující, ale za ty peníze s colou dokonale sedí!

The color and finish is outstanding and is my favorite rum and coke, always have a bottle on hand.
Decades ago I bought a bottle of Myers at Costco. A large bottle and my first time trying it.
I hated it back then, but my tastes have changed and I'm a fan of tiki cocktails. This seemed most appropriate since Coruba Dark and most other rums in the category are hard to find where I live.
Wow. Worse than I remember. So undrinkable straight. Tolerable in a cocktail if you want a funky cocktail drowned by funk.
Never buying this again. Now the second worst rum I've ever had (the first being Wray and Nephew).
If you want a dark rum for cocktails get Plantation Dark or even Gosling's. While they aren't completely dark blended Jamaican rums, they balance much better.
I just don't understand the love of hogo.
what is the chemical flavour that causes one to put the glass down and reconsider the importance of life?
Entry level Jamaican rum. It’s ok, but definitely one for tiki drinks not drinking straight. Some funk, but not loads. Better than this review makes it sound.
It's good when blended into Pina Coladas or with Lime and Coke.
The rum is 50% inviting and 50% telling you to watch out!.
"Initially it is all caramel and burnt toffee almost like black treacle. As the aroma develops that rich Jamaican aroma also makes an entrance amongst the dense treacle."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I really should learn to try the original base spirit before venturing into weird bottles. The Myer's Single Barrel Select, finished in Sazerac Rye sucks. So, I kind of stayed clear of the cheap looking standard Myer's Dark for quite some time. This is far better than the single barrel select. Very similar to Coruba, and thus fantastic for tiki drinks or similar cocktails that call for a dark Jamaican rum. Blind tasting the two side by side I still pick Coruba, but Coruba is much harder to find, unlike Myer's which is on just about every shelf I've ever seen. So, if I ever run out of my precious Coruba without a replacement, this will definitely do. It's better than Appleton Signature (6), but not quite as good as Coruba (7) or Dr. Bird (7), so this sits squarely in the middle with a strong 6.5. Giving it a 7 seems a bit generous, but I think the fact that you can often find this for less than $20 justifies it and it's close enough to Coruba that I'm fine giving it a little bump. Not sure it needs to be said, but not a sipping rum, this is purely for mixing.
