Mount Gay 1703 rum includes rums aged between 10 and 30 years that are joined by master distiller Allen Smith.
Mount Gay Distilleries is the oldest operating distillery in the Americas - producing rum in Barbados since 1703, hence the rum's name. It's original name was Mount Gilboa, and in 1801 renamed Mount Gay after the distillery's manager Sir John Gay Alleyne.

This tastes pretty similar to XO and it's triple the price. Always nice to add to the collection though. Since it's so expensive I take a nice sipper shot everytime my hockey team wins a game.
Much smoother than the XO. Certainly one of the better rums out there.
This is the best sipping rum that I have tried so far smooth and the taste is great.
It will be a challenge to beat this one
Piacevolissimi sentori di cioccolato bianco. Dolce e fresco al palato. Ottimo
One of the best rums I've ever tasted. Not yet found a better one.
This drink comes in a beautiful bottle. For what you pay for the rum you would expect more thickness and less of the burn as it goes down. Letting it sit or aadding ice is not something you expect to do to a rum your paying above 80.00 as the bitterness it leaves makes you question you purchase.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Compared to the version XO , coffee has disappeared and is replaced by a more complex rum, more robust . Adolescence gives way to maturity and if alcohol is present , there is nothing private in this rum of a certain aromatic richness.
