Column Still Rum
Country of origin: Brazil
Color: Pale gold
Nose:
Weak, flowery, fruity and fresh with notes of vanilla and white fruits - pears, peaches, honeydew melon ...
and some honeyed chamomile tea.
Taste:
Smooth and mild, fruity and slightly sweet.
Tastes like honeydew melons and pears, a little spicy (white pepper), with vanilla, oak and decent herbal aromas.
Finish:
Medium long, spicy and oaky.
Up to now I did not find a really good rum from Epris Distillery.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Unusual combination of aromas, I don't expected that.
It goes in the direction of Sancti Spiriti Cuba Distillery.
It's bright in the taste like a young rum but there is also a lot of pepper and sour notes. It's fruity but also dry like a Panama rum.
The nose is greeting me with Pear and Melon, then sour notes, pepper and green tea. It's a little bit strange, but very unique. I mean Fiji rum is also strange, but if you get used to Fiji aromas, you can enjoy it. The I get also some somke. A pretty strange combination, but I can enjoy it.
The taste starts with melon, pear, sour notes, paper, smoke and pepper. Pretty unusual but cool combination.
In the middle I get almost same notes. The taste turn pretty sweet, I get melon, pear, paper and smoke. The finish is almost the same.
The aromas are good, but it's a special rum, you need to love that stuff. If you love Cuban Rum from Sancti Spiritus, you would love this one also. Strange but a good one. I would rate this one with 79 points.
