Today I have a rum from the Mount Gay distillery in the glas. The nose reminds me of cours of Mount Gay, but it's more intensive and very fruity.
Nose: fruits (papaya, apricot, citrus), vanilla and some floral notes, white oak (balanced)
Taste: some vanilla, bitterness, apricot, citrus, spices (not as fruity as I expected)
Finish: long, spice, fuits (some apricot again, white oak, citrus)
Very nice aftertaste, very fruity
I would enjoy more intensive fruits in the taste.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The Rum Cask Barbados from 2000 has the Mark BMMG (Barbados Main Mount Gay). The rum was produced in pot still and stored tropically for 19 years. The Single Cask Rum was then bottled with a cask strength of 55.1% alcohol in 50cl bottles.
The rum is a bit alcoholic in the nose and needs time in the glass. It has a beautiful blend of tropical fruit, wood, vanilla and roasted aromas. The rum looks fresh with light citrus. On the palate, the rum is very spicy. Wood influence is immediately concise and there is a lot of pepper. But also clear fruit notes. However, the spice is more dominant. Roasted wood and some anise accompany the finish, which is dry and has bitter substances and spice.
This Mount Gay is different from The Last Ward. The nose is great and the palate very spicy. Pepper is not so my favorite among the flavors and here very concise. Still a good exciting rum, which could be a little more fruity. The barrel influence is very high here.
Der Last Ward.
