Kraken Black Spiced

Nice strong rum with a bitter sweet taste. Good dark color and a strong alchol/barrel smell.

Great easy go to choice, good flavor, just need a splash of coke

While this isn’t the “best” rum in the world...it punches above its weight class is every respect. You can sit back and drink it all night by itself or you can make any spiced rum cocktail. Hell, you can throw it in a frozen daiquiri machine and it will be the best pina colada you’ve ever had. If it’s not on your bar you’re fucking up.

Have tried a few of the more affordable rums, hands down this tops them. Not a sipping rum for me but definitely the BEST mixer. Goes down smooth and doesnt obliterate your mixed drink. Lovely! Try this over Capt, bacardi or sailor, you wont regret it!

Quite like this as a mixing rum as it doesn't contain as much artificial sweetness and vanilla of other mainstream rums like Captain Morgan.

Black spiced rums aren't my favorite type of rum, but Kraken Black Spiced Rum is not bad at all. Straight it's pretty harsh (94 proof and it shows), on the rocks it's a bit less so, but I wouldn't sip this anyway unless nothing else is available. This thing is for mixing, and it mixes pretty well in any drink where you might use black spiced rum-I personally love it with Coke because it has more flavor than white rums but does not overwhelm the drink with vanilla and/or caramel like most other spiced rums do. Smells syrupy. Taste-wise, it has somewhat noticeable sugar, some vanilla flavor and a strong alcohol kick.

Very sweet, molasses, fruity, lots of caramel, raisins and even some prunes in there. Was pleasantly surprised by this one.

This is a strong rum, but filled with spice flavors. The bottle is great, and adds a point here. A mixer in strong drinks for me.
