Havana Club Añejo Especial is a blend of rums aged for up to five years produced from the fermented molasses of sugar cane harvested in Cuba. The molasses is combined with yeast and water, distilled using column stills, and aged in white oak barrels.
Havana Club was founded in 1878 by Jose Arechabala and later nationalized after the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

Natomiast daleko mu do klasę lepszej odmiany, nazwanej Anejo Reserva. Niestety nie występuje ona w oficjalnej dystrybucji PL - a szkoda.

Simple rum. Perfect for Cuba Libra.
The bar at the hotel in Cuba was out of everything else so I got a glass of this and paired with a cigar. Not the best kinda hard to drink. I felt like it was just the same as the 3yr but carmel in color. It wasn’t smooth and was a difficult sipper.
Havana Club Anejo Especial has so many great stand alone qualities. While the ethanol burn is still present as a younger rum it still delivers the traditional flavour profile found in most of the Havana Club line. This is one of my go to rums to use in cocktails where a more complex rum is required. Sipping neat is also favourable but it does have more of a burn than I'd like. Overall very versatile rum and a good representation of the Havana Club line 7/10.
Really nice bottle for when you want a nice rum but not spend too much! For in my 'sure, anyone can have some' cabinet! Could lose just a little of the liquorice like taste imo but all and all a decent rum!!
Mediocre mixer. Much better Havana rums out there. It's reasonable value for money though.

Some oaky spicy notes.
"It’s very heavy with vanilla and the caramel and brown sugar notes are too much. The rum is quite smooth and not very rough."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

guess as a last resource when there is not even water to drink... you could use it, but if you can stay away from it, do it!
