Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

One of my favorites for an affordable go-to. Is good straight-up and as a mixer with coke.
Siempre lo tendré en mi mente dado que marcó un hito por mi actual gusto por el ron, pero su relación costó beneficio no es el de antes perdiendo mucho terreno con otros rones de similar precio
In my qualification of 7-year-old rums, this release definitely falls into the Top 10.
Was able to taste Havana Club 7 at the Caribbean Club in Barcelona. I've read several reviews saying it's not a sipper but this is not bad at all in my experience.
I find the leather note to be super muted and I find more of a fruit note top of palette when tasting.
Not super exciting but very serviceable as a rum and probably the best when compared against its price point competitors.
Not a rum for my taste. The smell is good. A bit strong. I can find the leather and wood smell that other people say. The taste is very strong and harsh. You get a strong burn. Not smooth at all. I understand other people could like it with a cigar. If you like stronger stuff this rum is for you. I wouldn't buy this again. Cheers
Parfait pour les cocktails cubain ou autres. Mais mauvais rapport qualité prix.
Like what a lot of other said, its a very different rum compared to many of the other Havana Club products. Its a quite deep flavor of leather and tobacco, but also much stronger on the vanilla. Needless to say, its a very robust flavor. Its not great for sipping, and its not great for mixing. Its a good rum, but really just not for me. If you like very deep and strong flavors, this is probably a great rum for you, but if you like sweeter and brighter rums, the Añejo especial will be your friend much more.
6,5:The nose is both sweet and rather imposing. It's a light rum in terms of aroma, but not in terms of power. The sugar softens a rather dry, peppery woodiness, along with a few notes of fermentation that seem to have come back from afar even light smokiness. Aeration brings out sweet fruits, coffee that melt into a grenadine syrup that is nonetheless rather powerful and floral.
6:The palate is quite round and simple, with caramel and vanilla. The alcohol warms the taste buds and awakens a dark coffee.
6:The finish is rather sweet, but tickled by hints of pepper and slightly metallic alcohol.
Awesome 7 year rum for $30 (from Canada or the UK). Can’t believe we get the much inferior version of this here in the US for the same price :-(
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

'caramel, cane sugar, and a bit of cinnamon character in the finish'

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I only had this rum on vacation with coke and I enjoyed it. When I tried it to sip it neat I needed to add coke.
