This is a mixing rum. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's 100% a mixing rum. It's affordable and is perfect in a daiquiri or mojito. Sipped neat, there's a bit of citrus, banana, and pear, but not really a ton of character.....but keep in mind it's not made for neat sipping.
My fiance went to Cuba some years ago and this was one of her presents for me. A delicious, yet simple sipping rum. Definitely worthwhile.
If you really try, you can get a load of pineapple and other tropical aromaS our of this one. While it is spicy straight, it easily beats any other mixer rum out there for cocktails.
Probably the best value rum for mixing long drinks with coke.
Very nice rum for cuba libres, mojitos and other cocktails requiring cuban style rum.
I love this little Cuban in mixed drinks, it is a waste of time to try sipping this. The rum body is too young to enjoy neat, with strongly pronounced tobacco and wood notes in scent, taste and aftertaste, but for me this is a classic, always have a bottle of HC3 in my bar to fix a mix. There are better mixers, yes, but this is such a great value for money and as white rum, its versatility is great. Score between 6 an 7. Imported from Cuba, not Puerto Rico!
Another good rum from Havana club, good mixing drink.
This is the rum I think of when I think of Cuba Libre. This is what I choose to make them, the best in its price range.
'intense nose with accents of vanilla, caramelized pears'
"Havana Club 3-Year rum review by The Ultimate Rum Guide"
The nose is very sweet.
"When sipped the rum is fairly smooth but it doesn’t have an abundance of flavour. Its sweet but very short."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

white rum, not for drinking alone, but for mixed drinks
