The James Gosling family business first produced Gosling Black Seal rum in 1806, and it is now the oldest surviving business on the island of Burmuda.
Gosling 'Black Seal' rum received it's name from the black wax originally used to seal the bottles. It is Bermuda's most widely exported product and considered the nation's national drink.

The best affordable option to make a great dark 'n stormy. Just an absolute classic. Not a great rum to drink neat.
A Dark and Stormy must be made with this rum, otherwise it’s not a Dark and Stormy. At least that’s what I’ve read.
Not a sipping rum, but great for mixing.
One of my favourite rums for mixing. Particularly enjoy it with cola.
Non l'ho mai bevuto da solo, per adesso l'ho usato solo per il dark 'n stormy fumando anche un buon sigaro e devo dire che per l'utilizzo nel cocktail è veramente molto buono.
Consiglio di provarlo.
Easy rum swizzle cheat: mix any raspberry lemonade w/ 30% pineapple juice. Toss in equal parts Goslins Black 140 and whatever gold or white 80 proof rum you have to your desired level of booziness. I prefer Goslins because you taste the rum, not a bunch of flavoring. This is what a good pirate would be drinking 300 years ago... minus the swizzle of course.
had the dark and stormy and it was really good had a different taste i liked it
I was introduced to this by a college friend from Bermuda who was into Dark and Stormy's. Its been 30 years since then and I still enjoy Goslings both as a mixer and straight over ice. If Myer's Dark is your basic rum, this is takes you further down the sweet/molasses path about halfway to the extreme held by Cruzan blackstrap.
It is what it is. The classic black rum. I feel that they may be losing their traditional style to a more corporate polished product but it's still delicious. Dark and stormy with this is a must try for any rum enthusiast. They pretty much invented that drink.
Basic good rum. Can sip in a pinch. Makes great piña coladas or dark and stormy.
'well balanced and nuanced with butterscotch, vanilla and caramel'
"Goslings Black Seal rum review by The Ultimate Rum Guide"
The nose is very pungent. Heavy thick treacly molasses and sweet caramel.
"It’s initially sweet like liquorice, there is a little heat and spice in the mix and the finish is long and slightly bitter."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Colour: dark with a red finish
Taste: slightly sweet with a bit of alcohol
Smell: bit alcoholic
Rating: I like it coke, would buy it again...because of the reddish colour it looks nice when mixed with light drinks
