Is heavy, corpolent, very complex, long aftertaste, great flavour, on the palate, it's hot on spices....one of the best rum I've ever tasted!
Bottelaar: Habitation Velier
Distilleerderij: Foursquare
Land: Barbados
Abv: 64%
Leeftijd: 2 jaar
Gedistilleerd: 2013
Gebotteld: 2015
Light bronze color. The nose gives notes of exotic fruit with pineapple. There is also coconut, butter, vegetal notes and woody, cigar box. On the palate, it's very hot on spices. Pepper, nutmeg. The final is short on wood, leather, tobacco. Very nice rum.
Lækker rom. Helt klart endnu et godt produkt af Habitation Velier serien.
This Young beast got two years in the ex-cognac cask. It would have been interesting to taste a unaged Foursquare. Both the unaged jamaicans, the Marie-Galante and the Port-morant in this serie kick some ass. I don’t assume the two years has done any/enough good to this rum, and i do not know If white Barbados has anything to offer. But both Seale and Velier have shown that a Foursquare can be transferred into some fantastic rums. This one lacks some depth, like it’s unfinished, missing the marriage with the added notes from the cask.
Velier has another fine bottling here. Rum ester on the nose. Not as hot as I expected for the ABV. Naturally sweet - no sugar added. Rum flavor at the start, a really short mids (hard to pull in, an "umami" thing perhaps?), and then a "roasted" anise flavor on the finish, which had some length. I say "roasted" anise, as it's not as sharp as a typical anise flavor, this is more mellow and mature.
Toujours en full proof.
Encore une réalisation de R SEALE sélectionné par L GARGANO.
Une réussite
Okay rom. Jeg synes dog st den mangler noget lagring
Notes of dark dried fruits such as raisins and currants.
"It’s a very rich, very flavourful rum. It has a really nice smokey finish which definitely leaves you wanting more."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

64% ABV. Aged for 2 years in the tropics. A rare 100 pot-still from FS.
Very hot, very dry, and very nutty. Almond butter? Kinda bitter. Herbal, like Chartreuse? Not at all what I was expecting for a 2yo rum. Very impressive. Medium-short finish.
I'd LOVE to try this in a Mai Tai if it weren't so dear 😬 But mostly this is a good one to sip on and concentrate as you tease out the flavors of a rare young bottling that has so much to say.
