I have had this rum many times while working in Nicaragua and it is both great on its own and in a mix. It has a nice soft smell and the local price of only a couple of euros per bottle is unbeatable!
This is a very solid, but unsurprising rum. A sharp nose of alcohol greets you on first pour, but it settles down quickly.
Tones of caramel and vanilla are standard, but can be somewhat artificial.
This is best used as a mixing rum.
Good every day rum, not great! Perfect on a Cuba Libre.
Common aromas. Tastes well, the smell is better than the taste. I expected more from the smell. It's good, but it has nothing special. I can not recognized his charakter.
Smell: oak, сaramel, dry fruits, vanilla, fermented fruits
Taste: some oil, caramel, slightly bitterness, oak, some spices
Sweetness: 2/5
Spice: 2/5
Fruit: 2/5
Mildness: 3/5
Not a huge fan of this rum. It’s a little less flavorful the I usually prefer
I suspect I'll need to revisit this one. I had it with Coke, and it was somewhat underwhelming compared to my regular Coke staple mixer, the Abuelo 7. Granted, the Abuelo is a bit more expensive. I'll have to try doing something else with this to see where it'll shine. This is definitely not sugared, which may be a factor. That's not a bad thing, it just makes it different.
This rum is nothing special and also not bad. I have tastend beter runs than this.
Relatively ubiquitous, moderately priced, dependable and satisfying.
It smells reasonably “boozy”. You still get notes of good oak ageing.
"The finish is overall quite bitter almost like dark chocolate."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

At first there are dried fruits and oak in aroma, which is pleasant and has a bit of spirit in it, but it doesn't mar the impression. Taste is weak, vague, harsh, a bit sweet, but still watery and unclear. Aftertaste is almost absent, but spirit harshness is too strong. It might be OK in cocktails, but straight - so so. Apart from that it's heavily overpriced.
P. S. The bottle really looks different, as some reviewers already mentioned
