For an aged rum, it still remains a bit of the hay taste of typical agricultural rums. Not to my liking. The bottle is classy.
Amazing Rum for Zipping. Smooth and goes down easy. What a Rum!
Well I was very excited to buy this bottle but after uncorking it I must say not for me . The oak overtones or whiskey nose as I call it was (is) to much , I let the bottle breath and even put it in a decanter but I can't sip this and mixing doesn't make it better for me but that's what I'll do to get through it
In a rum and coke it is smooth and easy to drink with I must say a dry note in the throat .
I would buy the 12 flor de Cana any day over this one
But to each his own
This rum has strong flavor signatures that leave your pallet begging for more. Instantly picking up the sweet undertones of surge, vanilla, and caramel. A glass has a dark amber color, and has an aroma of sweet sugars.
Very smooth and balanced. Not too sweet and still tastes like an aged rum. I'll buy this one again.
Lately I've been ordering a different bottle every couple of weeks and this one was worth the wait! A great sipping rum, this one is very smooth with rich flavor.
I bought this bottle as my first top-shelf choice. After having tasted Bacardi's Ocho, Solera, Gran Añejo and Morgan Spiced, I wanted something from a higher league.
Definitely worth it. Outstanding straight or on the rocks. For what it costs, I wouldn't dare waste it on coke.
This is one of my go to rums. The price point is really great for what you get in this Rum. Nice caramel and vanilla notes plus it is quite smooth. Not as smooth as the 25 year old Flor de Cana but at 100 bucks less this is a rum you need to try.
Received this as a Xmas gift and was nothing short of ecstatic to uncork it. I let it breathe for a while and had it on the rocks. Extremely smooth all the way down. Leaves a nice warm feeling down in your belly and an amazing flavor pallette in your mouth.
Toffee, Caramel, Dark Chocolate, hazlenuts and a little touch of tobacco give a sweet but not overly cloying nose.
"It’s not overly sweet and retains a dryness which is particularly good on the finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Once poured in the glass, alcohol "hits" back surprisingly hard, for my taste, in the first place.
Even after allowing it to "breath" for a while presence of oak dominates, eliminating all other scents. Combined with it's "dry" character, the overall outcome can be characterized as quite indifferent...
Such a pity, expected so much more... Maybe the bottle is too impressive!
