Flor de Caña 18-Year

Have always liked the 7 picked this one up in Santiago de Chile, Really smooth, incredible taste, as good as any old rum.

Buttery, carmel, cinnamon and hint of vanilla. This one has legs. Strong finish and complex flavours. It's not my favourite but it's EASILY the best value proposition. On the rocks with a sunset to gaze at... awesome!

I am open to all kind of tastes, yet was not convinced by this one. Even the smell was way to alcoholic...even after letting it breath for an hour.

Someday I'll try it mixed with coke...but a straight sipper?!...no thanks.

Don't get me wrong this is a very good sipping rum. It is very smooth and balanced. It is just a little to subtle on taste for my liking. Good, yes, but I was expecting more.

Color of the rum is very dark and mostly offering dark honey shades which is very inviting. Nose offers subtle hints of vanilla, caramel and lightly butter. When you sip it you can find very well rounded taste with tones of nuts, dark chocolate and caramel and with vanilla and wood taste. After swallowing comes surprisingly strong burn for an 18 years old rum, but very pleasant. I would recommend this bottle to everyone who likes more strong and spicy rums with longer alcohol burn after sipping.

Nice chocolate smell without alcohol sharpness. Taste is more powerful to tongue.

Nice over ice with a splash of water. Iceberg ice and spring water.

Not sure is is worth paying for compared to the 12 year old
