A sugar-free 18-year old, ultra premium rum that is sustainably produced (Carbon Neutral & Fair Trade certified). From a 5th generation family estate, it is naturally aged without artificial ingredients, distilled 100% with renewable energy and KOSHER certified. A full-bodied rum with a long and smooth finish that lingers in the palate. Best enjoyed neat or on a rock, with a peel of orange.

Full-flavored fruity with a round body. Goes excellent together with orange chocolocate, for example the Swedish "Marabou Apelsincrisp". A very good rum for first timers.
In the glass you find a medium golden amber rum with light thin legs that quickly descends after you swirl it. The nose is lightly sweet with noticeable oaky zest. The palate is very smooth and dominated by oak. The dominans of wooden flavour almost mascarades the frail melasse sweetness, and is perhaps just a bit overbearing. It's impressively smooth though and there is no doubt it's a quality product.
I gravitated towards this rum based on its recognizably large presence on the top shelf in every one of Disney's cruise ship bars. It's one of their staples and I find that it goes down just as smooth neat as it does with ice (but I prefer the former).
It has some faint floral notes, but I mostly catch caramel, cranberries, sweet cocoa and ginger. It's best to let this one settle for a few minutes before partaking.
This is the oldest rum I've tried and WOW. It's really, really good! Do not ruin this by mixing it. Only sip. Neat, on the rocks, or just a splash of water. Although not my favorite rum, this one is top 3. I can't pick out all the nuances and flavors. All I can do is say TRY IT. You won't regret it
My friend and I buy mostly Burbons and Scotches and enjoy tasting them. We found a place to buy FdC 5 yr 1.75ml for $25+tax. we have been buying them for years now and decided to branch out and try the 18yr because the 25 yr was a little out of our budget for 2 SS people. the 18yr was so impressive we decided to jump at the oppertunity to try the 25yr after the supplier said that they will sell us 2 of the 25yrs for $2 more per bottle. we havent recieved it yet but are sooooo looking forward to trying it. I gave this a 7 because I have to start somewhere.

It's pretty much Flor de Caña 12 only slightly sweeter (despite no additional sugar) and stupid smooth. It smells like a great rum, tastes like a great rum and it's easily right there with the best rums that I've ever had. It's worth every penny and if you see it, you should buy it.
Besides El Dorado, I really like Flor de Cana, especially this 18-year! Very sippable and tasty at a reasonable price. Always have this and the 12 available on my personal rum bar!
Toffee, Caramel, Dark Chocolate, hazlenuts and a little touch of tobacco give a sweet but not overly cloying nose.
"It’s not overly sweet and retains a dryness which is particularly good on the finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Tried this on the recommendation of drier rums. Pretty good. A slight sweetness with what seems to be hints of orange zest (I think). It does have an oak wood flavor to it but not overwhelming. Definitely will make a fine sipping rum for some. Not for me, however. I like it with my Coke Zero. However it's an overall excellent rum. A must have for a well rounded rum cabinet.
