El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

Really good rum for the price. It is sweet without getting too sweet and mild after taste.
Very balanced in the taste.
The first thing I noticed after pouring this over ice was the colour. Very deep honey that looks great in my favorite sipping glass. The aroma is subdued and leaves you guessing what is to come. The flavour is a combination of a fine balance of alchohol, caramel and a small hint of sweetness for an aftertaste. Will definitely serve this to good friends that enjoy a good rum.
Finally got around to trying this. I can definitely see why so many people refer to this as their standard when comparing any other great rums. Not too sweet yet not too dry, which is exactly as I have come to enjoy them. Really great all around.
Drinking El Dorado 15 neat or on the rocks...terrific experience especially for the price point. Hints of vanilla linger on the palate. Very smooth...
Great aroma, full body taste, best served on the rocks.
After the 12 it was logic to try the 15 version of this great rum enterprise called El Dorado. I expected more and I got more. Starts with a sweet kick, maybe a bit to much but followed by a nice burn and cognac/oaky finish. A very well balanced rum wich makes you eager to try the 21 edition. Will that be my first 10 out of 10????
Sweet.... .
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Denne Rom er god til prisen, men er lidt sprittet i eftersmagen, men ellers ok
