El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

A good sipper with nice aroma. It is a mixture of smokey oak and walnut. Flavours change while drinking. It first tastes a bit harsh but becomes smoother and wider on the tongue as you drink it. I like it but for that price I would rather get a bottle of Gold of Mauritius Dark. All in all a good choice - try this one on the rocks!
It has an unique character and feel to it. First it strikes the orange scent and taste. Then you feel a strong Irish component similar with the one found in whiskey, but more sedated. It's hard not to love. It's strong and masculine, but in the same time crests a smooth feel and a gentleman sensation. The rum is not that sweet, and that is great it can be enjoyed with a various environments and conditions. cheers.
A nice rum but with a slight alcohol taste that shouldn't be there for the price. Still great and more mellow than the 12 years.
Very smooth for a rum at this price. Most flavourful.
This rum is incredibly smooth, but the flavor profile is overpowered by sweet notes that drown out any of the other tasting notes that could have been there. A light oak character is in the finish. Smell is a light oak and leather.
Comme ses deux frères .. 12 et 21ans..
Simplement trop cher pour un produits hyper commercial.
Bon, mais à ce prix, trop de bouteilles passent devant !
Sweetness 7/10
Overall 9/10
Eventough I prefer my rum sweet, this could easily become one of my favorites. The nose is fantastic and the atste also.
If you don't like this stuff it is time for you to dawn your nightgown and prepare your vote for the Hildabeast! Great rum from start to finish. Nice sweetness but not to sweet. I like it neat or a rock or two tossed in. Definitely one to keep in the cabinet and in your belly!
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I m not a big fan of the bottle... El dorado design in general is not very appealing... Anyway we care about the taste right ?
The nose is seeet, a lot of alcohol, but that s to be expected with a "young Rum".
In mouth, well not very spectacular, quite round, not so sweet, a lot of character, a bit dry, I was expecting more judging by the reviews. Anyway recommendable to most I guess....
