El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

80 proof, no ice sip test
I am comparing this to the excellent ED 12.
Where the ED 12 had a medium smoke nose, this one has a darker smoke nose.
Smoothness is same as ED 12, very nice, no after bite, no bitterness.
ED 15 has a more robust, darker taste in mouth than the ED 12, and the darker aftertaste lingers.
Empty in-glass nose continues for hours after the alcohol evaporates.
Really excellent demerara rum.
Buying the ED 21 next month, hoping to give it an honest 10 rating...

I purchased this on the recommendation of a friend. He knows my taste in rum, and promised I would like it. I do, very much! I drink my rums straight, no ice, no mixing. This rum has a nice little bite to it, not too sweet, warm and pleasant, with a long lingering taste. Very, very nice.
Oui il a de la qualité c'est un rhum intéressant. Moins bon que le 12 mais plus caputeux loin des rhums que j'ai noté 8 et 9.
Well balanced, fairly smooth, and easy to drink overall, I'm just not getting as much of the complex flavors that are given in the product descriptor. Also seemed a bit too watery. I wouldn't say no if somebody offered it to me in the future, but it's not likely to be one of my go-tos.
much more "oaky", however the 21 year old is still much better in direct comparation.
Dejligt at nyde den i godt selskab
Den er dejlig sød og giver en god varme og fantastisk efter smag
I didn't like the first time i opened the bottle. I descided to give it another try and it's growing on me. I'll rate it 7 and might up it to 8 later. The taste is too'whiskey' like. I like sweeter rums, and it's a bit to dry for me, but the more i drink it with a cigar the more i like it. I can see why people like it, just not my thing (yet)
A good nose with a hint of vanilla.
A taste of red fruit imo, sweet but not too much and the warm feeling will last long, great rum.
Sugar: 31 GPL
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Très bien, mais je préfère le 12 ans. "Chaleur" d'alcool trop présente à mon goût, comme son côté boisé.
Very good, but I prefer the 12-year. Heat of alcohol too present for my taste
