El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

I don't always sip rum, but when I do, I sip El Dorado 15. S T M F
El Dorado special reserve var en av de första sorterna jag testade. Mycket bra rakt igenom med tydliga och väl avvägda smaker. Kanske lite för dyr om man ställer den i relation till Diplomatico grand reserva.
More complex than the 12YO, think I need to make it breath a bit more before tasting on my next turn, otherwise an excellent choice.
Update: Upgrading score as after a bit more tastings I like the complexity more than the sweetness of the 12YO.
My expectations due to reviews and my friends recommendations were high, but I think this rum is nothing special. Smooth taste, but bit alcohol. I must give it a second chance. Despite my feelings, it is not bad rum - the popularity is high, so you must give it a try.
My favorite sipping rum over a single block of ice. Cold and strong. Great character.
The legacy from the 12 year old, but with a maturity in the taste that makes this a much better experience.
A rich dark rum with a lot of taste. I taste dates and vanilia followed by a little bitter aftertaste.
One of my favorite rum.
It's little sister (12 year) is also good but with a little longer maturation, this rum reach a perfect blend of flavour, taste and aftertaste.
This rum is slightly different from the 12 Year old, but it does not add much other than some more imparted oak. For the difference in price ~$20 more for the 15 year old, it is not worth it. The 21 Year old is a lot pricier, but a great rum.
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."

Room temp straight from glass reminds me of a fruitcake with hints of orange, date spices and a light smokey flavour
