Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

A very nice smell and the colour is on the dark side and it is a sweeter rum. best drunk without ice and pure.
To me, this tastes like a sweeter version of the Zacapa 23. Much less heat and more raisin and date flavors. The PX barrel aging really comes through in the nose and taste. Very easy to drink.
I was very surprised on how different it tastes compared to other rums that I have tried. It has a little sweetness with a finish that definitely reveals itβs sherry aging. A very enjoyable experience.
Really good rhum but u have to let it breathe, at least 15 minutes. Close to the taste of el pasador. Not too intense on the alcool, not too sweet, fruits and oak vanilla at the end. Really a good choice !!!

A very tasty sipping rum with a nice wine finish. Best served in a daiquiri type cocktail, where the rum's flavor is allowed to prevail.
For me, this rum has great taste in the front, molasses, but then it just doesn't have a finish. It's worth buying for the price.
Un ron que no parece ron. Tiene sabores que efectivamente saben a madera.
