Huele a un armario de madera y sabe con notas vainilladas amaderadas y frutos secos.
Baja muy suave con un retrogusto muy agradable.
If you’ve spent anytime in Puerto Rico you will soon learn that Don Q IS the rum that true Puerto Rican’s drink. Their gold / regular Anejo are much better the the famous Bicardi line which are also made in Puerto Rico.
With all that said I found the Gran Anejo not up to the price they want for it. For my money I’ll take the fine USA mainland rum Georgia’s own Richland rum much better.
Don Q is harsher and burns more on the backend.
The title says it all - it is ok, but nothing to write home about.
Beautiful bottle, nice addition on my bar shelve. Smooth, a good sipping rum.
Still Don Q, it's slightly better than the blanco, but barely.
Very smooth rum. Easy drinking, slight heat going down.
I gave it 6 stars because it does mix okay. However, at this price it should not need to be mixed to be good. Compared to similarly priced rums it has a bitter and harsh flavor. It was not so harsh that it could not be sipped, like many cheaper rums, but it was not an enjoyable sip either.
Good to add variety to an evening of rum tasting due to its unique taste. Sweet for sure but great for sipping.
There's some nice tastes of raisins, wood, a hint of vanilla and coconut, but you have to be patient. Try and drink it too soon and you'll get nothing but paint stripper. Patience is rewarded sweetly in this case.
A sweet almost perfumed like aroma is followed by some oak, a little spice and a lovely waft of light vanilla.
"The initial sip gives a sweet yet slightly peppery entry. Running alongside these flavours is a subtly creamy vanilla note which runs right through the rum. The finish is long and peppery."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
