Средний ром, довольно водянистый, не сладкий и не жесткий, неплохой букет, приятное послевкусие.
Výborný rum, plná intenzivní chuť a vůně. Ideální k pomalému upíjení.
Sweet smooth and good for the prize. My favourite in 2021
It’s my go to , always on my bar. It’s priced right,
Very good rum. Easy to drink; smooth and with a lovely molasses flavour.
Not so sophisticated. Some extra sweetness makes it dangerously enjoyable. Excellent for those who enter the world of rum. In fact it deserves a 7 but I give 8 because of the excellent price.
The gold standard to compare with other rums. The sweetness is very balanced.
This was my first "different" rum that I tried when I started going full-on into my rum phase. Loved the bottle, loved the name and saw a lot of great reviews on it. When I first sipped this I thought, "Well this is how I always thought rum should be!" It was aromatic, flavorful and fun to sip. It was smooth and had a nice mellow warmth to it. Then after a few more sips and letting the flavors of toffee, chocolate and licorice dance around on my tongue, I started to realize it feels kind of thick and syrupy. Not in a bad way so much as just, I don't know if I can drink this all night kind of way. It's not that is overly sweet (it ALMOST is), its that after a few sips it comes across as a liqueur more than a rum.
Now don't get me wrong, there is a LOT to like about this rum. Its a really enjoyable sipper. But in moderation (and not because of the alcohol). At least for me. Your mileage may vary. But I found since this rum is at a pretty good price point, and has some great sweetness characteristics, that it is incredibly perfect for a Mai Tai. And I'm not talking your fruity, slushy Chili's Mai Tai but a proper Don Beachcomber/Trader Vics original recipe Mai Tai. Since I started using it (and swapping around some other rums in an effort to see what combos make the best Mai Tai), it has been my go to rum for when I make GOOD Mai Tais and leave the cheaper rums for when the in-laws visit.
I will always keep a bottle of this in my collection, and would be happy to share it with anyone who wants to try something different, but I don't see myself sipping this too often unless its more of an aperitif or digestive after a meal. But again, thats just my take on it. Other than that I think this is a wonderful, um, beverage.
My friends keep this around just for me. I know they always have it. It is a bit sweet for my taste but serves as a great sipper.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

There is nothing really wrong with this rum, except perhaps that they added too much sugar.
In fact, that is what is what is wrong with it.
Smell and taste are good. Some oak, some spices, some dried fruits. All very agreeable. But it is all way too blurry, way too tame and too boring. No alcohol taste or smell, no roughness at all. I wish it had some, that would give it a bit complexity and would make for a much more interesting drinking experience.
As with Centenario 20, I would be very interested in trying this without the added sugar. The rum used in this is probably quite good and very likely would be much more interesting without all the sugar flannel.
Still, an OK rum to drink. I like an ice cube in it, which helps with dimming down the sweetness a bit.
