Sweet, well balanced, a bit smoother than very similar Zacapa 23y (and cheaper). For somebody can be too sweet, almost like some rum liqueurs, but I (and most of people) like it. Definitely best buy from this level of premium rums.

edit: Some promo fairytales say that Botucal is origin recipe (and of course older = better). By my testing is only different sales brand, tastes are same.
After drinking of many other rums I must edit my feeling, I would like to give 8,5 for good rumstart, but there are more finer brands

Un rhum exceptionnel, sans doute le meilleur rapport qualité-prix du marché !! Un nez relativement discret, caramélisé, mais en bouche c'est un pur nectar, vanille, miel, avec une touche boisée indescriptible; et une bonne longueur. Un incontournable, impossible d'envisager une cave à rhum sans sa présence!

great taste of melasse rum. The nose smells some flower, coffe, caramell und the taste is more herb than you expect, but very well coffee and caramell flavour. Price/quality is excellent

Un gout puissant, un rhum très sucré, un prix attractif. C'est les premières choses auxquelles on pense avec ce Diplomatico 12 ans.
Un bon rhum pour faire déguster a quelqu'un qui n'est pas forcément fan.
