Diplomatico is heavily dosed with sugar but is generally a smooth and tasty rum for those looking to get their feet wet with sipping rum.
A rum starts with the bottle. The vintage matte look already makes me want to drink it. It is round, sweet and just enough strong. I am not an expert yet but it is my favorite so far.
Very nice. Deep sweet and soft tastes, love it....
Just the best I have ever tasted! Great price and the greatest quality! Going for sweet and heavenly!
If I could only drink one rum, it would be this. Very smooth. Strong flavours of brown sugar. If I could change one thing I'd probably turn down the sweetness half a notch, but that's far from a deal-breaker.
Sweet, bordering on syrupy, and exceedingly smooth. Hard to get past overwhelming notes of vanillin and caramel. I don't particularly care for this rum, but I would hesitate to call it objectively bad. This rum would make a good introduction for those who are looking to start enjoying spirits neat.
excellent rum sweet with vanilla and toffee, caramel, fruity, little bit of spices, sweet aftertaste and medium long.Balanced
I love this rum, enough of a punch but still very savourable, nice spicy taste but not overehelming, great smoothness to it. I would recommend to anyone without a doubt, it's a wonderful experience.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

On its own with no mixer this is the still the nicest rum I have had. I am lucky enough to have a boat and nothing better than a late night dram of Diplomatico in the open air looking at the stars.
