Venezuela | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot Still
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum is distilled from molasses in copper pot stills and then aged in small oak casks for on average 12 years before being bottled.
Produced in Venezuela, which has a rich rum history dating to 1896, the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva distillery is located on the northern slopes of the Andes mountains.

Great smoothness and sweet taste. It isn't even that anoying but it offers absolutely nothing too interesting. I mean... I buy this bottle here and there as it is enjoyable and even has some hidden tastes beneath he above. But who would both finding them when it can be such a no brainer option for good sipping without realising it isn't a rum as you know it from say barbados :D

Soft pepper hue with dark spice. Arising cola sweet, root beer with hazelnut. Pleasant sweet menthol-ed coffee paired creamy dried fruits chocolate. A wee industrial sugary sweet. Short-medium, subdued with thin texture, layer of sweet minty liquorice.

A great, very smooth and easy to drink, sweet rum, that won't disappoint. Leaves a very positive impression overall but is a bit "dull" in a way in comparison with some others. If I did not try other great rums, this would have easily been my TOP :-)
Smooth straight drinking rum. Couple of ice cubes and sit back and enjoy.
A sweet sipping rum with buttery caramel flavor and a fruity smoky burnt oak. Would recommend if you’re trying to find a rum that everyone can enjoy.
Complex flavour and aroma. Good depth, plenty of everything going on here but quite sweet so could put off the rum purists. Sexy frosted glass bottle makes your guests think you've made an effort. Solid 7. Good stuff but I'd like to experience it without all the additives.
This is the rum I pick up when I have a little extra money saved up. Highly recommend
One of my all time favorite sipping rum (my favorites is sweet rums).
Nose: vanilla, sweet caramel and creamy toffee aroma.
Taste: sweet dessert'ish rum.
Aftertaste: sweet, long and complex
Smooth rum with a beautiful colour and complexity.

This rum is very nice for sipping. It is a bit sweeter than other rums, but is does not come across too sweet. Lots rich flavor, smooth with a nice hint of burn. The dark hue and aroma is fabulous. I highly recommend this rum. Enjoy!
