I have also rated the Panama Red 108 Overproof at 9. Because 6 bottles of that cost the same as my 2 bottles of Exclusiva. But in terms of pure sweet sipping bliss this is the tops for me. So I savor this one as an occasional indulgence, and consider myself spoiled when giflted a bottle of this by a family member, as happened this Christmas. And dream of the bottle that I have not yet found that would rate a 10 for me.

This is my go to sipping rum. I try to never run out of it. I used to be a scotch only guy when it came to sipping before this wonderful rum. It has vanilla, caramel and fruitiness like all rums I love. But it also has some darker tones of smoked wood. The thing that won me over is the deepness of all the flavours. I can just sit and try to discern all the different layers of taste that goes into this rum. The only downside I can see with this rum is that the balance shifts slightly between each year. But the elements are always there and when the fluctuation is between excellent and bloody excellent, I can live with it.

The first good rum in the top of $ 50 that I tasted. Well balanced, strong in the mouth, vanilla, in short, I recommend it!

This was the rum that turned me on to rum. Easy to drink, some sweetness, nice caramel and cola like flavors.
