Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum is distilled from molasses in copper pot stills and then aged in small oak casks for on average 12 years before being bottled.
Produced in Venezuela, which has a rich rum history dating to 1896, the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva distillery is located on the northern slopes of the Andes mountains.

With this rum everything began for me. It was so good that I had to try more. This rum is difficult beat.
Not very strong, sweet But a little blend in the taste....
Ill buy eldorado 12 over This....
After reading the reviews here i had a high expectation of this stuff. But it is very 1 dimensional to my opinion. Have the feeling the sugar is hiding some of the depth this rum could have. It's just very sweet. Small bitter on back of the tongue. Little burn.
A truly great sipping rum. The fact that it goes for under $60CAD at the LCBO is a bonus.
No harsh alcohol aftertaste, nice sweet balance, great colour, maple syrup on the nose... Let the glass dry and be surprised by the burnt prunes smell. Superb!
This is the rum that got me into rums. Since then I learned about added sugar and why some rums are smooth. Review edited 1 point downwards to 8/10.
This is my go to sipper - so smooth, sweet and easy drinking. My only problem is the bottle empties to quick! Obviously there is a lot of added sugar but That doesn't particularly worry me.
Velmi skvely rum, prvy ktory som ochutnal z takych tych lepsich rumov a ktory to v podstate cele odstartoval u mna. Prijemne sladky, nieje potrebne ho zapijat a da sa pit bez problemov ohriaty na izbovu teplotu. Skoda ze nevyrabaju 5 litrove flasky :)
Read great things about this and I like Venezuelan Rums so I thoght I'd give it a try.
Not much nose. A bit sweet, vanilla then some cinnamon. Nice spice with a smooth delicate finish. Mid bodied. I like it a lot, not my favorite, but up there.
One of my son's friends picked this up for me. Great choice and great to sip. Moved to the top of my list.
Im going to condradict myself im sure but here goes i like this rum but its not very rummy yes its got added sugat no question almost the rum equivalent of glava only noy so pronounced a great dessert rum yes a great rum no easy drinking and smooth yes but lackung some compexity

One of my references for rating other rums... while not all the same, this one has a special extra smooth finish that I find more appealing. Only drink this neat is my preference. If you buy two of these, make sure you give one to a good friend who also appreciates Rum.
