Diplomatico Ambassador Selection

Sencillamente impresionante, soy un amante del 12 años y este es la culminación total de diplomático. Un 10 sin ninguna duda.

This is for sure one of the better rums out there. I lack the broader vocabulary many of you possess and I feel I cannot fully put words to how I feel about this rum. What I can say is that it is one of the best ones I have in my cabinet due to it's great sipping potential. Only one rum that I have tasted beat this rum, and that one comes from the same distillery. It is not aggressive in any way and it stays with you after you swallowed it. Will come back and put more words to the feeling once I get a better hang of it.
The reason I say it is not full pot is that I like my rum a bit more sweet then this and that is why I cannot go all out here.

Well-balanced, nice long finish; but ultimately too bitter and uncomplex as a sipping rum, for my taste. Need to let a lot of alcohol evaporate to find the flavors. Tastes too much like the wood barrel.
Appearance: Amber
Aroma: old wood/oak
Taste: balance of slightly sweet and slightly bitter
Flavor: wet aged wood, hint of molasses and caramel
Texture: light body, sting of (cask strength) alcohol
Finish: long, long bitter then sweet, then mild molasses, then sugar

This is a great rum that everyone will like. It does however lack some distinct personality. Bottled at a nice 47% it is not to nimble, and just pungent enough to get its message through. I would have loved for it to have a little more attitude, as its flavors just doesn't surprise. A rum in this price-range, should offer something completely out of the extraordinary, and I just don't feel that it hits it's mark.

Beaucoup craignent la notoriété du Diplo mais ce rhum, est de loin le meilleur que j'ai pu goûter. Un goût rond qui dure, un rétro hors du commun! Niveau épice, c'est du tout bon. Je pleure déja car la moitié y est déja passée...

A lot of rums want to be this rum but there is only one Diplomatico Ambassador Selection.

Yes, it's pricey, but it's super. Tried on the rumvent calendar and plan to order a bottle for special occasions.

Finally. I tasted close to 100 Rums and finally I got the first 10.
Fantastic balance, both nose and taste. Nice flavours some banana and cinnamon.
So smooth and long taste together with absolutely fantastic nose. This is something I will take every time when I just find it.

Not a rum connoisseur by any means, but have sampled a few. My most expensive rum. Is it worth it? I don't really know. What I do know is that it deserves to sit at the top of my cabinet. Taste of quality. Very smooth, and I'm not sharing!
