calkiem calkiem, zaskakujaco dobrze, godne polecenia
Some interesting notes of cofee and chocolate in this one. Little wood here and there, but strange aftertaste, little bit harsh and through the sipping I could taste underlying metalic quality of sort. Still pretty good and not too sweet, but I prefer Flor de cana 12 in this price category and style.
Excellent moonshine, folks.
But the box...it looks like youโre buying a perfume!
Small review of Dictador 12:
1) Origin: Columbia, 12-year-old solera, but I have no illusions about the number of the oldest items. European distribution should be controlled from Katowice (Poland).
2) Bottle: nice shape, but it is completely opaque, so you can't see how much you have left in the bottle. The plug has a real cork.
3) Aroma: Walnuts are absolutely dominant. Another strong ingredient is sweet coffee and also a little vanilla. Once opened, there is no smelling alcohol.
4) Taste: Again, ripe walnuts + Kofila (Czech coffee chocolate bar) and also vanilla predominate. It is a medium-sweet rum, approximately at the level of Zacapa 23. It is less sweet than Diplomatico RE and a little less than, for example, Dos Maderas 5 + 5. It is not puckery or bitter, but quite smooth.
Note: Before drinking, I rinsed the glass with water and let the rum "exhale" for about 15 minutes. I do it every time and it worked for me. The drops on the walls of the glass partially "absorb" the harschness of the alcohol, which does not disturb the taste so much.
5) Aftertaste: Relatively short and fades soon. It is pity.
I recommend it to beginners who do not like too sweet or too dry rums.
Overall rating: 8/10
The Dictador rums can always be noticed by their unique smell: a lot of the cask, malt, leather, alcohol and a bit of dark roasted coffee. The 12-year is definitely more on the spicy side but therefore with no added sugar. One should give it some time in the tumbler to get most of the alcohol volatilized and an overall smoother taste. Not my everyday sipper but a good choice if one is out for a dry one.
Not too sweet, some faint hints of wood and licorice, a decent sipper. I am not a fan of the opaque bottle. I prefer to see the color and also see how much rum I have left :-)
Itโs a very intense, pungent smelling rum.
"The taste of the Dictador initially is very much of coffee. It still has a fruity taste but it has a lot more going on that just being sweet. ."

Surprised about firts smoke touch taste, but in a fact the great but short oak emrace, followed with chocolate and coffee finally. A diference from others for sure makes its oak aroma... Feels stronger but smooth with longer aftertaste. Like it!
