Trinidad and Tobago | Aged | 40% ABV
Angostura 1919 rum is produced in Trinidad by blending a combination of light and heavy molasses distilled rums. These rums spend at least 8 years aging in American oak bourbon barrels.
The name Angostura "1919" refers to the event in 1932 when Angostura's distillery was destroyed by fire. Miraculously, a handful of barrels filled with rum from 1919 survived and were purchased by J.B. Fernandes - the master blender of Fernandes Distillers.

This rum is kinda harsh out of the bottle, it needs to mellow over ice a bit. Once mellowed, this is nice and light. It has a soft vanilla flavor with little to no after taste. I would reccomend this to a novice rum drinker.
The Rum is presented in a nice bottle (old packaging), low and squared. The aroma are quite sweet and wuickly you can identify something floral, almost like a rose. For me the "floral" side has been an issue real quick as I must have focused too much on it, but overall the Rum present several aromas like vanilla, fruits and orange peel... with that floral rose note!
You should definitely try it before you buy the bottle as this might not please everyone.
this on a hot summers day over ice was an OK drink . I would not go out of my way for it but happy to drink it on the rocks
I was given 2 bottles of this years ago by a Trini friend and fell in love with the taste. Not the smoothest you can buy but many many people love this rum great served neat or the best I ever had mixed when I was at the Hilton Fete in Trinidad for my first Carnival. When I do a rum tasting with friends I give a glass of pepsi on the side to wash the flavours, with 1919 you can taste the cinnamon and ginger only after you take a sip of pepsi. This is my favourite back up rum of choice and always have a few bottles on hand.
A nice golden coloured rum with a little sweetness and a faint oaky bitterness to the aftertaste. Has some fruity tones and is easy to drink neat on ice. Great delicate nose.
Cherchant des rhum des vieux et rond j'ai été un peu déçu.
Nice drop sweet with a bit of vanilla but not sickly, bit of molasses and caramel. Didnt find it outstanding but still quite good. Excellent presentation.
In der Nase frisch, Zitrone bzw. Orange. Mild, weich, leicht, fruchtig. Etwas Vanille. Nicht zu süß. Etwas Schärfe, aber sehr angenehm. Im Abgang etwas Bitterschokolade, Basilikum (?).
Hyvän makuinen, mutta terävä alkoholin potku pilaa elämyksen.

There is a little “oak and smoke” and a very small scent of fruit.
"The rum is very smooth with notes of oak, cocoa and vanilla. Perhaps a little banana but very subtle."
