Best of the Rumsonโs line. Sweet. Too sweet as my palate improved.
Vanilla, spice, apple, pear. Pretty good but perhaps is a bit too sweet. Finishes with caramel. Not a fan of the price, but enjoyed the adventure.
This rum is silky smooth on the palate. Yes, it is slightly sweet to taste, but that is what the makers claim it to be. I do like the caramel flavor I get when sipping. Overall a very nice rum. I would buy this again.
It's a good rum that can be enjoyed with your favorite mix.
It is rum distilled in Trinidad and Tobago, which is bottled in the USA. It is a blend of rums up to 23 years old.
It comes in a bulbous bottle with artificial cork. Previously, the package was 0.75 l, after the facelift it is a classic 0.7 liters. The color of rum is like a honey.
Aroma: Rather less intense at first, but quite pleasant and sweet. You can smell vanilla, ripe banana, mango and cherries. At the end there is a hint of oak wood, but not very intense.
Taste: It is excellent, delicate and really sweet. In the mouth you can smell vanilla, banana, caramel and at the end again delicate woody tones. The taste reminds me a lot of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. The aftertaste is rather shorter. A pleasant sweetness remains on the palate.
Conclusion: It's quite a surprise for me. If I started with rums, I would give a higher rating, but now I feel that it could be a little less sweet. However, it is a very good rum, but unfortunately it is not exceptional.
Overall rating: 8.5 points from 10
Very smooth with a sweet finish. I prefer the Bully Boy Boston Rum more but this is definitely top 5
I enjoyed the Rumson's Grand Reserve, but to me it isn't quite up to it's current score (8.3). I rate this rum about a 7.
Has a nice sweet smell and taste, which is actually decent, but not sophisticated or aged enough to earn a higher score. Vanilla and molasses, with a hint of leather. Pretty good, but not great.
This is so smooth for sipping, and I like it neat. There is a bit of leather on the nose and the palette, that I hadn't experienced with a rum yet(only really aged port), it adds to the complexity. There are also notes of coffee and fruit, has the perfect amount of sweet finish.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I tried this in NH with their Coffee and Spiced Rums. I was a Ron Zacapa and Diplomatico drinker before I tried this. This is better. Full bodied. Smooth. Amazing finish that is a bit like cola and leather. Absolutely amazing sipping rum. Rumson's Grand Reserve and a cigar. My new go to!!
