Found accidently in Bogotá in a Jumbo store. (You cannot really find it even in COL.) The first catchy thing was the appearence of the bottle, and the price also indicated it was something above the others. It has a harmonic taste and aroma, you can clearly feel the caramel, but also a bit of alcoholic burn. A very good rum, much enjoyable, definitely a must-to-try, if you have the possibility.
Coffee and cacao in the nose. The same on the tongue, with some hard to identify fruit. Plums? A bit rough though - meaning that the alcoholic burn sets in pretty fast. The finishing then again nice and smooth, a little bitter, coffee again.
I read all the reviews and was convinced enough by them to buy a bottle at over €50 which isnt cheap. I love the bottle and colour but thats where the good ends. I'm very let down by this. I've sipped and mixed it but just cannot get a balance, it needs some fresh lime to help make it palatible. Every time I sniff or taste all I can think of is Sherry. Not Rum. Big disappointment for the money and anticipation from the reviews, I really want to like this Rum but I cant recommend it. I'm not getting much from it other than mild toffee, mild cream but a fair whack of molasses. I think I would rate Kraken and Sailor Jerry (albeit it spiced rums) as better and they are entry level rums!
Don't waste your money.
rum to drink with cola..nothing special..very expensive for what it is..some flavour of vanilla, coffee avvery nd tobacco...but very light...not recommend it as there are a lot of better rums at this price
Harsh and a little earthy, don't really like but the bottle is cool.
Bottle: One of the best, very interesting
Nose: caramel,sweet,vivid
Body: bourbon aftertaste, spicy/hot
Tail: medium lasting
The odor is really interesting, the taste was quite disappointing.
Alkohol: 40 %
Původ: Kolumbie
Aroma: Kůže, exotické dřevo, tabák, koření, cedr, starodávný nábytek. Těžší styl rumu. (88 b)
Chuť: Suchý, "koňakový" styl. V chuti zakulacený, s vanilkou, dřevem, kakaem. Působí svým stylem a celkovým vyzněním "staře". Zajímavá dochuť starého dřeva. (84 b)
Body: 86
Shrnutí: Další kousek v pořadí z poslední Hořické degustace u josého. Hodně zajímavý rum, zraje systémem solera v amerických sudech z bílého dubu. Určitě stojí za vyzkoušení.
Oak dominates on both nose and (especially) palate. Cedar and spice on the palate with a lovely medium-long finish. Smooth with a superb mouth watering burst of acidity/alcohol on the finish. Very good if a little dominated by the oak.
Nice rich smell of caramel and toffee with orange fruity notes.
"It is zesty and spicy with more pronounced orange flavour. There is also a red grape flavour which is very pleasant."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

In the nose there is something special, maybe caramel, maybe toffee. The taste includes many different tones, chocalate, coffee, caramel. Really great.
