Keeping in mind this is a spiced rum, I liked this one a lot! Of course I wouldn't expect "pure rum flavours", the rum was infused with vanilla, coconut flesh and ginger. BUT it is really well made and it delivers pretty balanced flavour profile.

Pro tip: try it with coconut water!

I sampled this at the NYC rum fest last week and found it be pretty tasty albeit I don’t have a lot of experience with spiced rum. It’s loaded with flavor without being overly sweet. A very toasty marshmallow flavor with intense vanilla and coconut. Part of the aging process takes place in sherry casks which probably accounts for the depth this rum has to offer.

Nice amber color. Mild in drinking, a little too sweet. Dark chocolate flavor.

I thought that this was a new Jamaican rum when I saw it on the shelf. For only $30 US, I told myself WTF and brought it home today. Then I saw that it is a spiced rum, and rather pricey at that. Well, at least it has a gorgeous bottle to go with it, complete with an embossed turtle on the front and a real fat old time cork.

I have had a lot worse spiced rums and only a few that are much better. This company is transparent and states the ingredients on the back label: coconut, sweet spices, and a touch of ginger. However, with this odd combination, I could not single out any one of them. This has become a very unique combination on it's own. I would also classify this spiced rum as being sweet. I don't regret buying my bottle, but probably not again.

Update a few days later: The aftermath of this tasty rum is similar to the tasty escolar fish used in sushi. I will not explain in further detail, but this tasty rum is best saved for unpleasant guests that you can send on their way with a ruined car seat before they get home. Let me put it another way, there are internet videos of poor souls who made the huge mistake of eating escolar before running a marathon. This pretty bottle wound up being a $30 bottle of tasty mouth wash, because I no longer dare to swallow this rum. I am now wondering what in hell is in those "sweet spices"!!! You have now been warned!!! I now lower my initial rating from a 7 to a 4. It has been years since I have had to do this.

Beautiful amber in the glass.
Very pleasant and fruity on the nose. Noble vanilla, fresh coconut and candied tropical fruit are very refreshing and do not seem intrusive or artificial.
Soft and sweet on the palate (25 gr./l.). Like a vanilla ice cream doused with warm caramel, so that the surface thaws slightly and the flavors blend perfectly. Served on a fruit salad of tropical fruits, freshly grated coconut refine the whole and bring an exotic touch.
In the finish, the various flavors reverberate for different lengths of time.
So far, the best spiced rum I had in the glass. Is a product of the house Ferrand. A 5 year old Jamaican rum, macerated one week with ginger, 2-3 weeks with coconut and 5 weeks with vanilla. For lovers of this type of rum, sweet tooth and mixologists.
Plantation tasting at SCHÜWO.

Vraiment bon, énormément parfumé.
Pour les fans de rhum épicé.

Vůně: Hlavně karamel, lihovější, lékárna, ovocný drops
Chuť: Sladká, léčivé byliny, pepř, nahnilá tráva(třtina), karamel.
Dochuť: Lehounce sudová, bylinně nahořklá
Jakési na rum neobvyklé, much spice, pořád to evokuje lékárnu.
Nesedl mi, jako Rumbullion.

Kokos, vanilka tu hrajú prím. Príjemný rum za dobrú cenu. Veľmi vydarený spoznávací znak na fľaške je drevená korytnačka 🐢

Tasted at Kill Devil Rum Club Planteray night at Laka Lono
Appearance: gold
Aroma: fake vanilla
Flavor: listerine
Notes: I am not a fan of this rum, which surprised me. I found the artificial flavors offputting, with an overall medicinal tone likely generated by the artificial vanilla additives.

Very bold flavor with spices It was still a pleasure to drink it but it changed cigar taste to much.
