Kaniche XO rum is produced in Barbados where it is first aged in bourbon casks. It is one of the few rums that is then double aged for a more mellow finished in Pierre Ferrand ex cognac casks at their location in France.

Tried this because it was on sale. I am glad I did good flavor, mixes well with coke. Straight it was not to harsh.
Delicate, smooth, tropical aromas. Hints of coconut, hazelnuts and almonds in aroma. Great sipping rum.
Great Rum from Barbados. Typical flavours of pineapple, banana and vanilla. Warm aftertaste with hints of pepper and sweet tropical fruits.
Sweet with a distinct flavor of coconut. Quite similar to one of my favorites, the Plantation XO, although not as sweet. Definitely worth a buy if you can pick it up for a discount since regular price seems a bit overboard in my humble opinion.
This nose is a fun one! Pretty alcoholic at first, but it quickly clears up to reveal oak and cola, before morphing into a smokey brown sugar, similar to a barbeque sauce, with tropical fruit lurking underneath.
Aging the rum in cognac casks brings out a lot of that same characteristics you see in Plantation, but more so for all of them. Kaniche XO carries sweet, strong flavors of molasses, papaya, toffee, baking spice, and just a smidge of coffee. Finish is rather short, but the delightful flavors and phenomenal smoothness of this rum make it a star anyways! If you're a Plantation fan, I would highly, highly recommend this! (And if you're not, then I just highly recommend it!)
UPDATE: Hot dang, this stuff is so nice! Poured myself a glass tonight for the first time in months, and realized just how easy I could down this stuff! Simply marvelous!!
The rum has it's unique character in the sense of taste, is neutral and balanced with a smooth sweetest, the double wood translates in a rich vanilla taste, covered by the ussual molasses taste. Not bad for an XO, but I was expecting a bit more personality a bit more relevance. Tasting at room temperature and no ice.
This by far one of my favorites..if not my favorite, well priced for the quality and taste.
Soft spiced taste, round finish, great Choice for the evening to simply sip and enjoy
but with more sherry notes. more raisins, more chocolate. and of course more sweetness. still a half dry rum in the sweetend world of rum. i don´t like it sweet, but if, i would give a 8.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

En klar favorit. Mycket smak efter ett tag i glasset doftar man cocosbol.
