Flor de Caña Nicaraguan 25 year rum has an exquisite taste. It is smooth with delicate flavor.
Aromas and flavours of caramel, honey and oak. Slightly dry, long persistent oaky finish. But too expensive at 170USD.
This was my first "expensive" rum, just a pleasure to taste.
Deilig rund rom, absolutt verdt ett forsøk
You got to taste it, Nice
I believe my pallet is not that sophisticated but even I can taste this is amazing. I typically like darker Caribbean rums but this is heaven
Deep dark and slightly sweet. I enjoyed this with a nice Perdomo 20 year anniversary cigar. At $16 a pour I could only sample one. It was my birthday so why not. I would do it again next year. They also had the 4 year which wasn't as dark and flavorful but went better with the cigar.
N- Notice they have actually TM the term "Slow Aged", and would be great it does meant to reflect the actual years spent in the barrel. The bouquet of this highly acclaimed bottling does open up well with solid presents of austere woody notes, spiky spices lurking with sweet chrysanthemum tea. Late coming warm waves of cocoa drift on the emerging sweet smokes. Quite flawless and balanced. (22/25)
P- Elegant oak with notable expensive waxy orange, as well the nutty almonds and cashew oil. Soft sweet spice added dimensions. Calm with ocean of depth but short on waves for the width. (21/25)
F- Short-medium, like what derive from the palate, plenty of body with fine oak, a very good charming bottling for most palate. (20/25)
Balanced:- The fine waxy orange feel a bit lonely here. (20/25)
Weighted Rate:- 83pt
Presentation: Beautiful box with engraved history and brief description of its origins.
Bottle: Better than other younger rums from Flor de Caña. I do not like it looks too close to the 12y
Color-Aspect: Dark cooper, looks heavy in the glass with thick, strong, slow moving legs. This part is impressive! The legs will disappear after a while but several large drops will stay attached to the glass forever
Aroma: Esters, asfalt, definitely NOT a sweet aroma. Heavy alcohol at first. After multiple small breaths there are spices and a hint of chocolate.
Palate: Very easy in the tongue, maybe too simple from what I expected after that nice smell. Not to sweet, spices again. Mild sherry.
Finish: very poor, almost none. It was gone after few seconds. I was hoping for more but I felt it clear too fast. It felt almost all in the tongue but nothing impressive in the palate (anatomically speaking😎)
Overall: Just an 8 from a rum that I expected to shock me but I will definitely give another try in a few weeks!
Un ron delicioso con aroma perfecto para disfrutarlo puro.
El mejor logro de Flor de Caña

Maybe a bit bitter, but at the right conditions strong flavors come out which pair very well with cigar.
