Companero Panama Extra Añejo 12-Year

A real taste of chocolate and a little coffee, but 54% is too much.

Very sweet and aromatic rum. Not bad for one glass, but not more for evening. I still feel chocolate in my mouth one hour after taste. But nice strong.

Toto je asi najväčšia nálož čokolády akú som asi zažil. Od vône až po chuť čokoláda, kakao a na pozadí jemne citrusy. Tých 54% naozaj nie je cítiť. Zaujímavý,no nie Mona šálka kávy.

Ooooooh! Now that is interesting. I am curious to figure out what is going on here. On the nose I got dried cocoa powder - a bit like that which you smell when opening a box of dark truffles with a sprinkling of cocoa powder on the top. The taste is more cocoa than chocolate too. As a bit of a choco-holic, I can't say that I didn't really enjoy it! And the colour....blimey with that bottle, tin and smell, it came as quite a shock to find it such a light colour. It's pretty strong but I enjoyed it neat. I'll probably also try it with a single ice cube. Well, whatever is going on, it may not be a classical rum, but it is very pleasant indeed!
As a complete and unusual aside, I bet it a small trickle of it would go well on an ice cream too - which is possibly true of many rums, though it's not something I'd normally think or consider doing, but with this one...well, I just might try it at Christmas :)

This rum is more like a chocolate liquor. For my taste it's even too much. If I want this kind of drink I'd rather buy a chocolate liquor.

The smell of this molasses made rum comes close to a chocolate bomb. It's insane! Normally I would rate this with an 8, but unfortunately, it's 54% alc., which is too strong for my taste and results in a not so easy drink. Diluting it with a bit of water and giving it a few minutes in your glass.. and you're set. Cheers!

Great stuff, should be a spiced rum i think? (They put cocoa beans in the barrels). Don't know if the rum has sugar in it and frankly i don't care. This tastes geat and will be replaced as soon as i run out of juice :D.
