Yet another Hampden from this independant bottler. I found this one very drinkable at a "reasonnable" 55° ABV. A full spoon of funky esters, zests and green olives but not on the far extreme side, which is better in my opinion (Most likely LROK, indeed). Thick texture, long lasting finish and just enough wood and minerality. This is not the most complex nor extreme Hampden but this particular one is still typical and very enjoyable . Last but not the least it was very affordable.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I have been fortunate to try another rum from my (probably) favorite destillery in Jamaica: Hampden Estate. This time we are trying an offering from independent German bottler The Rum Cask.
Nose: Vanilla, Olives, Almonds, Dates and Plums
Taste: Butterscotch, Olives, Oak, Acetone and Green Apples with a long balance aftertaste
Overall: Another good offering from Hampden Estate. It should be notes for the ester-nerds, that this is marked as an LROK, but to me it is a bit to mellow. It is not watery or anything and the flavour is great, but there is something missing, that I can´t put my finger on. Still a really nice glass of rum.
