Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Schmeckt extrem süß. Wahrscheinlich viel Zucker drin. Starkes Orangen-Aroma. Es gibt natürlich bessere, aber irgendwie hat der Papa etwas ganz Besonderes, Eigenes. Ich mag ihn und würde ihn nochmal kaufen.
Man liebt ihn oder man hasst ihn. Ich liebe ihn. Er ist in allen Belangen extrem. Sehr süss und eine Explossion an Geschmäckern. Nicht für jeden Tag, aber ab und zu muss ein ein Papa sein.
Don mi hrozne moc chutná. Zatim muj nejoblíbenější rum.
My expectation was much more higher... It's just not my kind of taste. I can't find any deep tones at it.

Tento rum ma zmiesane hodnotenia. Jasna vona a chut za vanilkou. Osobne jedrn z mojich oblubenych. Flaska za cca 40eur je mozno trochu viac ako by bolo vhodne na 7rocny rum.

Léger et fruité au nez tout en étant doux et délicat sur le palais, la couleur légèrement ambré de Don Papa a un long final, riche avec des arômes de vanille, miel et de fruits confits.
This is a "softdrink" of a rum. This shouldn't even be called rum.

Not as complex as some of the other possible options in the price range but I did like the strong vanilla and honey aromas of this rum. Still a nice rum to have for its originality and geographical provenance. Although some would argue it's a shame to mix it with something else, it wasn't smooth enough to sip for my personal taste.
