Whilst having strong vanilla and caramel notes akin to a soft chewy toffee it is not overly sweet. Have tried it on ice for sipping and as a long dark & stormy.

Nope, not my cup of syrup. I tried it dry (no ice, no cola) but it was way too sweet for my taste. Normally I like sweet rums but Don Papa had a strong vanilla (and/or whatever that (fake) flavor was) taste. Glad I got to try, so now I know that I won’t be buying this anytime soon.

This one i don’t like to drink pure! It is strong and longlasting in the throat.

I can't tell precisely, but there's something wrong with this taste. Need to get used to it? Mix it into a long drink? Not for me at the moment. At least bottle label is beautiful.

A nice bottle for a Rum that is easy to drink and to enjoy for people not really used to it. The flavour is almost suspicious since it is so sweet that it tastes like chewing-gum and the more you drink it, the more you get disgusted by that sugar taste.
I would say that it is a nice bottle for a someone that is looking for a Rum that is easy to drink and not used to "strong" alcohol. But there is certainly way better for that price.

Love the bottle, the rum is very 'orange' tasting. Not my favorite but not bad at all. Bottle now serves as a candle holder.

Industrial style rum produced by a blend of different rums.
The nose is known exclusively sweet, primarily caramel, coconut, honey and vanilla.
On the palate it has a light body, the taste is very sweet, almost cloying contrasted slightly by light citrus notes.
It is a rum suitable mainly for a female audience and for those who like sweet tastes, in fact it looks more like a liqueur than a distillate. I believe that in addition to the large quantity of caramel (dark color) spice has been added, even if this is not reported on the label or on the manufacturer's website.

Advice for everyone: when you smell a rum (or any distillate), before inserting the nose and inhaling, make a slight puff in the glass and immediately afterwards try to smell the perfumes. This operation serves to escape a little 'the power of alcohol that otherwise would lead to burn in the nose and cover many scents.
