Don Papa Small Batch

First of all.. The bottle and that beautiful label.. Deserves a place in any cabinet just for the looks..

Hay que admitir que la botella y etiqueta es muy bonita, me gusta. Pero ahí queda el asunto. Definitivamente NO es ron. Incluso en nariz no es tan malo si se tomara en cuenta que es un licor. Pero en boca es terrible, ni siquiera el aroma queda en boca. Exageradamente dulce, suave e irritante. Como licor no es malo, pero repito, NO ES RON.

It's definitely not like others. Very sweet, and candy like in taste and nose. If love trying out different tastes, then give it a try. But don't expect a traditional rum

Once you open the incredibly nice looking bottle, the room is filled with a very strong aroma of vanilla, sweets and candy that comes a bit too artificial. Some people claim it to be all natural, but I doubt it.
The way it smells, the way it tastes. Sweet ... almost sticky. It's more of a liqueur than a 7 year old rum, but hey: some people like it that way. I will use the rest of my bottle mixed with coffee, because here the Don Papa works really great!

One of my first experiences with rum. At the beginning I loved the taste, but then I found it way too sweet.

The sip itself isn't bad at first, but I don't like the after taste... weird and artificial-ish.

Rum Don Papa je kvalitní filipínský rum z cukrové třtiny, která rostla na vulkanické půdě v nejúrodnější oblasti Filipín, oblasti Negros Occidental. Zraje 7 let v dubových sudech v předhůří hor Kanlaon. Jantarová barva, aroma lehké a ovocné, které pokračuje jemnou a lahodnou chutí. Rum Don Papa má dlouhý závěr a nabízí bohatou paletu chutí jako je vanilka, med a kandované ovoce. V překladu znamená "Don Papa" pantáta.
