I felt this rum was very good on the rocks with a squeeze of lime. Was very smooth to me with touch of sweetness and tanginess that like. Would buy again.
Private Stock is much smoother than the original Captain Morgan Spiced. It's great to sip on the rocks. Better when using a chilled glass or by letting it sit for a couple minutes to let it chill on ice. For the price it's great. I paid $25 which makes it great if you want to have a better rum for a party without buying the expensive stuff.
Based on how bad the other captain morgan's are this one actually surprised me. Able to be mixed or even drank neat. I preferred it neat and will probably buy on occasion for a change of pace.
It's not a bad rum. A bit too sweet to drink neat, though on the up side the extra sugar cuts a bit of the harshness of cheap liquors. Tasting wise, it's largely similar to standard Captain's, but sweeter, with a bit more vanilla and maybe a hint more clove.
It's a smooth spicy sweet flavoured good for mixing
Goes great with fruit drinks or ginger ale. As a sipper it's ok. If you want rum and coke, get the regular stuff
Captain is captain, or so I thought. This blend of private stock is stronger than the usual, but doesn't warrant such a steep price. Paying around $25-$30 is good value but not hire. Although the bottle is cool for your collection.
A very smooth rum on the rocks. A sweet taste that is very good as well. There will be a bottle in my cabinet at home for sure.
It is very much on the sweet side but I like that in a rum, very smooth, I rarely mix any alcohol as I prefer to buy stuff that tastes good on its own, at most with a little ice or chilled but usually just neat @ room temp, this stuff passes the test! I like to try a lot of different stuff and this is a go-to keeper for me.
Captain Morgan was actually a 17th century Welsh pirate...

While it's not quite perfect it is amazing for the price and availability. Think of it like your would Outback, it's probably not the best steak in town but it's consistently good.
