Super rum Γ€hnelt dem angustura 1824 nur milder. Geruch: etwas rauch, manderinen, birne und Zimt.
Schmeckt mild und nach Schokolade bissel gewΓΌrz
Favorite rum so far. Doesn't taste like alcohol at all. A must try.
Was looking for something different from the usual stuff, but reasonably priced, and was recommended this by the bartender. Good choice. Certainly sweet, but smooth and easily drinkable. Liked that the barrel notes were present, but not overpowering.
The first thing you notice notice is how heavy the bottle is. Then the beauty full colour in the glass, followed by the strong smell of vanilla. The taste is gentle and sweet with oak, vanilla, bannana. Its not a great rum but its just such a pleasure to drink.
Very sweet, for some too sweet. I like it much. It got a nice caramell an vanilla taste.
I live the thick, buttery finish on this rum. It's silky smooth & warm with strong molasses and vanilla. It's fantastic straight up.
It seems that sometime in the last several years the recipe has changed, and the flavor is distinctly sweeter. Still good, but no longer able to compete with some of the more expensive bottles. I used to tell people it was the 30 dollar bottle of Zacapa, as the flavor profile felt very similar.
That is no longer the case.
This is mixture of 12-18 yo rums (4-5rums). The producer has not planted the sugar cane but it has been bought on the sugar cane market. That means Zaya has not so much influence on the sugar cane when/where it grows. I would prefer other the traditional combination of plant&produce.
Nose: vanilla, oak
Body: Caramel
Tail: Chocolate, butter
Bottle: Under average. Very heavy-solid bottle, but its design is like a wine bottle.
