Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
I prefer rum and cokes. This fits the bill for my need. Affordable for what I want.
Aroma - imitation coconut extract
Taste - syrup with good body
Finish - coconut and cardboard
Smooth, coats all corners of your mouth with sweet butterscotch, caramel and oak notes, and places just a touch of sour Jamaican funk right on your tongue. Not to sweet and really no heat at all. "Pleasantly surprised" would be an understatement.

Well I recently returned from a 3000 mile driving trip of the United States. Granted there were many reasons for the trip, but finding rum was one of them. I stopped in countless stores and brought back 10 different rums. Some great (Old Monk) and some disappointingly bad (Pecan Street Rum from TX)....
Nice taste and smoothnesss. Great on the rocks or straight up.
Nice taste and smoothnesss at ab affordable price. Great on the rocks or straight up.
Smooth mouth and throat feel. Just a tad to sweet for sipping purposes. Carmel, vanilla, light plum, and raisin flavors. Short finish with a hint of brown sugar. Overall, a nice, well rounded, everyday sipping rum but still somewhat forgettable.
Specially thinking Brazil where this rum is not that expensive it makes a good choice for when you want to mix something but donโt want to spend a lot of money.
Love this with coke or blending to make a daiquiri or Pina colada.
Makes the absolute best Mojito, perfect for the beach, lake, River or pool!
A great sipper or a wonderful addition to any spiced rum based cocktail!
Really good for the money. Mercadona have this own brand in white for โฌ5, anejo for โฌ6, and this viejo 8 for โฌ9. "Splashed out" for the viejo and am very pleased. Made a great Black Cuban mixed 2:1 with Ruavieja Licor de Cafe - ridiculous really that just two dirt cheap ingredients can make a nice cocktail.
It's Venezuelan.
6,2:On the nose we find notes of caramel and vanilla. There is also the aroma of spicy oak and fresh sugar cane juice, and a light and minimal spiciness from the rum. It is balanced and homogeneous.
6,7:On the palate, there is rum creaminess and a subtle spiciness. It lingers there for a short time, we continue with a bitter dark chocolate, accompanied by toasted oak and toffee. The sweetness is subtle and notes of vanilla and red grapes find way out.
6,5:The finish is long with the notes of bitter almonds, spicy wood and raisins.
8:On the nose, aromas of vanilla, nuts (almond) and cherry are delicious. Classic caramel and tobacco are also present.
7,8:On the palate, the attack is soft but also intense and one might think that this rum is over 40ยฐ. Caramel, tobacco and nuts make up this gourmet profile.
8:The finish is long, with tobacco playing the leading role. Wood and almond try to take the spotlight, but are ultimately defeated.
6,5: On the nose, this rum is filled with tones of vanilla, ginger, honey plants and spices.
6,5:On the palate of rum reveals notes of ripe citrus fruits (lime, lemon), orange peel, dried fruits, spicy hibiscus nuances and gorgeous menthol shades.
6,2:The finish is quite long, warming with ginger-spicy notes.
6:On the nose, this is indeed a spiced rum. Spices and licorice are present, but vanilla is even more so. There's also a hint of cherry.
6,4:Sweet on the palate. The ever-present spices (clove) are joined this time by orange. Vanilla is also present.
6:The finish is long on spices and vanilla.
A nice blend of authentic flavourful notes. A good one to indulge without breaking the bank.
It is one of the better spicy rums. It is very delicate, coffee-like, with a slightly chocolatey aftertaste.
A great option to start getting deeper into Jamaican rums. Definitely not your Smith and Cross or Worthy park, but a step up from Appletonโs offerings.
A good Dominican Rum that, well, tastes like Dominican rum. The not a high end rum but one worth the money, falling in-between a Barcelo and a Brugal. Smells of honey and delivers in taste with hints of oak and peat. Smooth but not distinctly unique.
No aroma, taste of oxidized tin cans, sweet, ethanol heat, no identifying spices nor vanilla.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
