On the nose a mixture of sherry and whisky with a subtle touch of rum. This rum has a strong taste of sherry/whisky but does not burn as much as you expect.
This is a unique sipper for me as far as 6y old goes. The blend is very well done because I taste both types of alcohol. A great edition to your collection if you want something different.
This is a rum consisting of molasses rum from Venuzuela and Cane Juice rum from Dom. Rep. tropically aged for 8 years in bourbon casks and then aged in Sherry casks for another year.
It is bottled by the Swedish IB Ösrgöta Rom AB and is named after one of the lakes south of Linköping that connects the Kinda channel.
It’s a bit special for me because during my first 8 years I grew up in the small village of Brokind whose castle and lock are located where the lake system changes its name and I went to school.
It has a spicy taste with barrel character and some sweetness, muscovado sugar, marzipan, cinnamon, arrack, nuts, orange and vanilla.
It's a little sweet with its 10gpl along with the impact of the PX Sherry cask aging, but that aging also gives some dryness and it's lovely for me to have considering my background and upbringing.

Light color. Smooth. Good for sipping. I have it in a great glass with scull shape.
Still pretty early in my rum exploration and figured I would give the local product a go. This distillery is only about 20 min from my house, and they have a full range of flavored rums as well as some nice age stated offerings. This is the 4 year: very nice nose, tons and tons of vanilla, some molasses, quite sweet. First taste is all brown sugar, into a nice sweet and sour/bitter note. Some nice astringency and an interesting blast of menthol/cool mint towards the end. The mouth feel is fantastic for something only 4 years in a barrel. Overall for the price point this is a no brainer to have on your bar.
It’s a good rum. My local mom and pop shop deals in close out liquor and beer. They got this 10 year in for $15-$20. At the price, it’s a fantastic rum. I’d happily go up to $35 and be satisfied. I’d compare it to Plantation with a strong caramel-like tasting note.
I like the original. This version has added taste which is not needed. It also doesn't enrich the rum.
yes a jewel is expensive like this rum is, but really this is the best one i tried, 61% abv but not too strong, very smooth, sherry barrel gave this rum sweet fruity notes and made it excellent !
Aroma - olive brine followed by nail polish remover, fresh sugarcane, and grass
Taste - olive brine followed by fresh sugarcane spoiled meat and a bitter charcoal finish
Vanilla, butter biscuits, caramel, berries and touch of roasted barrel; sweet caramel, berries, candid fruits in smooth body; berries and wood in long tail.
Technical notes with fruity touch in aroma; sweet sugarcane and caramel start, licorice, glue and leather in body; not significant tail.
8,4:On the nose, there first impression is medicinal with nails polish, quickly turns into roasted and toasted notes with burnt sugar, gourmand butterscotch, dried fruits and woodiness, all other Bajan attributes as coconut, nutmeg, a pinch of cinammon and inevitable dryness, that ends with bourbon yellow fruits.
Aeration brings out chocolate, pastries, caramelized nuts and later on tobacco, mocha and a bit weaker tropical fruits as banana and passion fruit.
8,5 :On the palate, nice bourbon notes hit our tasting buds with yellow fruits, the rum is dry, as we taste dried fruits spicy with baking spices, underneath more and more menthol is felt.
We quickly feel toasted wood and roastedness with caramelized roasted nuts, milk chocolate, some metallic note is present. As we go along, butterscotch and pastries show up again, dried dates, burnt sugar, nutmeg and sweet spices that lead us into the finish.
8,3:The finish is warm, long with sweet spices, the wood is toasted with honey, dried fruits linger, dryness, some other notes as tobacco and roastedness stay.
Banana, toffifee, vanilla and touch of wood in aroma; sweet smooth start, butterscotch, little spicy, gentle fruity finish of body; short ethanol tail.
This is the best rum i have the pleasure to drink. Selection of aged rum in Moss, Norway is not good.
Round body a little 3 second sting and a nice after taste.
A bit too sharp for my taste. Aftertaste very good!
Nice dark caramel color. Vanilla, toffee, cinnamon are notable on the nose. Similar notes on the tongue with chocolate and additional spices. Nice, smooth finish with little burn. Overall, nice sipper that good either neat or on the rocks.
Very good taste. Strong and tasty, but not too much.
That was fantastic experience to taste this rhum. Strong flavour, very delightful, not too sweet.
One of the better rums in its price level. A bit sweet and very tasty.
Very good with cola. When plain could be a little bit more spicey

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
