In the bottle from 10th Ave Liquors in Portland OR. Tasted on 7-21-24. Pours a pink Chablis color. Aroma is of fruit- but unfortunately it is of the plastic fruit variety. For a lower alcohol rum, this finishes pretty harsh. Coconut is the dominant flavor with maybe a bit of cherry cough syrup. The bottle itself is awesome though. The mango is ethereal at best.
I know the xo is technically 6 but I think they blend in barrels aged up to 10 and you can taste that.
I’m doing a side by side with both right now and the xo is superior to this 8 for my tastebuds.
Doing a side-by-side with the 8, this one taste a bit more complex - rounder, ends peppery
Worth it for the novelty. Smells like a fruit snack, smells like it’s going to be unbearably sweet. It is sweet, but not as sweet as it smells. Very orange forward, some coconut, some plum. I don’t want to drink it again but don’t hate that I tried it. Would be good in a Mai Thai or a peña colada
Első korty ! Vaníliás kicsit édes csokis diós enyhén szeszes .Ár értékben nem rossz.Ajándékba adtam veszek magamnak is.
Első kortyintás! Vaníliás diós mazsolás rendkívül kellemes, hosszú lecsengésű enyhén fás íz.Nagyon bejön!!!
A bit sharp on the nose, quite smooth to drink. An almost silky texture.
On the nose a mixture of sherry and whisky with a subtle touch of rum. This rum has a strong taste of sherry/whisky but does not burn as much as you expect.
This is a unique sipper for me as far as 6y old goes. The blend is very well done because I taste both types of alcohol. A great edition to your collection if you want something different.
This is a rum consisting of molasses rum from Venuzuela and Cane Juice rum from Dom. Rep. tropically aged for 8 years in bourbon casks and then aged in Sherry casks for another year.
It is bottled by the Swedish IB Ösrgöta Rom AB and is named after one of the lakes south of Linköping that connects the Kinda channel.
It’s a bit special for me because during my first 8 years I grew up in the small village of Brokind whose castle and lock are located where the lake system changes its name and I went to school.
It has a spicy taste with barrel character and some sweetness, muscovado sugar, marzipan, cinnamon, arrack, nuts, orange and vanilla.
It's a little sweet with its 10gpl along with the impact of the PX Sherry cask aging, but that aging also gives some dryness and it's lovely for me to have considering my background and upbringing.

Light color. Smooth. Good for sipping. I have it in a great glass with scull shape.
Still pretty early in my rum exploration and figured I would give the local product a go. This distillery is only about 20 min from my house, and they have a full range of flavored rums as well as some nice age stated offerings. This is the 4 year: very nice nose, tons and tons of vanilla, some molasses, quite sweet. First taste is all brown sugar, into a nice sweet and sour/bitter note. Some nice astringency and an interesting blast of menthol/cool mint towards the end. The mouth feel is fantastic for something only 4 years in a barrel. Overall for the price point this is a no brainer to have on your bar.
It’s a good rum. My local mom and pop shop deals in close out liquor and beer. They got this 10 year in for $15-$20. At the price, it’s a fantastic rum. I’d happily go up to $35 and be satisfied. I’d compare it to Plantation with a strong caramel-like tasting note.
I like the original. This version has added taste which is not needed. It also doesn't enrich the rum.
80%. I get a lot of oak and some vanilla in this one. I tried this one straight and on the rocks. I dropped a few small pellet ice pebbles and this one got really smooth.
