Close to the official dark Navy rum once made by Captain Morgan for the Royal Canadian Navy, the RCN Prusser Rum.
Good with a Coke (Coca Cola) mix...
Very smooth Demerara Dark Rum, once a supplier to the Royal Navy as the Prusser Rum of choice. Great with a water press, very smooth 👍
This is the best Goslings to date. Great golden brown color, limited edition slightly over proof. High end presentation let’s give a taste.easy in the nose not overpowering or significant scent just good aged dark rum. First sip neat is exquisite, just damn good aged rum, not overly sweetened if at all, no artificial flavors just very nice pure rum. Just added a small cube , still excellent. Will add more tomorrow since I had a few cigars earlier but this is a definite buy it if you can find it rum. Tried it several more times gave it another notch up. Great rum.
Privateer Distillers drawer release #80. 1 of 244 bottles. 50.0 abv
Nose of oak and treacle. Brown sugar and vanilla. Old style rum for sure. Plenty of punch but no bite. Great mouth feel. Soft spice, honey and molasses. Very balanced. Not overly complex but deep flavors and smooth transition to the finish. Finish is full of oak and vanilla with a final uplift of nutmeg and molasses. Thus is honest rum. Great stuff.
This rum isn't very easy for me to get so I was hoping I wouldn't think it was anything special, but it's flavor in a PKNY alone is enough to make think I'll need to keep some on hand going forward.
Not for everyone, but if you enjoy tiki cocktails you'll find a place this fits.
Tohle je opravdu dobrota. Za tu cenu nic lepšího asi neseženete. Jemný, vyvážený s příjemnou chutí kokosu.
Dobrý, ale lehce umělý rum.
Umělý ořech, zralý banán
8,9:On the nose, this is a sweet rum, very impressive with fruity notes, vanilla and caramelized delicacy. Roasting notes spices things up a bit, woodiness brings us back to delicious mellowness. Aeration brings out roasted nuts and very appetizing nougat.Walnuts and hazelnuts are like nuggets from the oak barrel, lightly coated with red fruit.
9:On the palate is as sweet as the nose, attack our tasting buds with juicy, woody caramel. American oak is the master on board. It relentlessly unfurls its delicacy of soft wood, chocolate, yellow fruits, tobacco and vanilla. The more roasted notes remain more in the background. The rum is very round and balanced, really delicious.
8,5:The finish is dark and toasty, with a few spices, lingering with notes from the palate.
Man could hardly find so smooth rum!
Tasted this rum for the First time this year. I have been trying Some of their other destilled like their Marillen (abricot) Schnapps. So i was very curious.
In the smell there were some fruity tones like raisins combined with vanilla. In the first sip there is a firm alcohol taste but the aftertaste gets smoother and more balanced. Some vanilla and chocolate tones.
This is a very good rum. Very nice presentation and fair value at the $50-60 price range. Age statement is vague, matured at length from private reserves up to 21 years. Sounds like Solara not true 21 year aged. On the nose I first pick up on Toffee, Figs,& Raisins. In the tongue first is sweet sugarcane followed by the toffee & raisins very smooth and enjoyable but I put it in the typical Venezuelan sugar bomb category like Diplimatico. This is definitely a sipping rum neat or a few small cubes. I will definitely drink this bottle not sure about another unless I have a cough or sore throat. Might try the 12 or 18.
Really satisfying level of sweetness. Not syropy like some sweet rums but sweet and super smooth. Really easy to sip over ice. Good value for money too imo
Stunning bottle to start with and when you open it, it has a great mix of smells. As someone who drinks mainly Spanish Latin American/Caribbean rums, this has a noticeably different style. Much less sweet and more complex mix of flavours. Is great over ice and now one of my favourites. Need to try more navy style rums it seems.
Also love the history behind the black tot
Can smell the chilli when you open the bottle, almost a bit of smoked paprika. Nice smooth rum, get a little kick of spice at the back, really nice bottle as well. Not overly flavoured
Kraken is definitely one of my favourite rums, it is smooth and easygoing, definitely something I would recommend to my friends. Only issue I may have is that it is kinda pricey for a rum. (For Reference: $75-$85 for a 700ml bottle in Australia 2024)
Is a unique tasting rum that has a sort of candy taste to it's spices, doesn't linger so if it's not to your liking, you won't have to taste it constantly. Overall decent however will come down to personal taste.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Fairly safe bet to use in a cocktail, but it won't ever wow you.
