Jeffmo62: Thanks for the tips on Las Vegas bars with good rum selections. I will be returning to Vegas at the end of January, which is 10 months after my very bad accident there. Using your tips, I went to Yelp to look at pictures of menus and the inside of each bar. The focus is all on custom made Tiki drinks, which is not my thing unless it is another attempt at the perfect Mai Tai. The ...

I strongly suggest not categorizing rums by its color (i.e. "gold", "dark", "black"), since most commercial rum brands alter the color of their products with caramel coloring, hence the color is not in any relation to the actual age of the rum. There are some independent bottling of for example Jamaican rums that are 10 or even 15 years old, and they are very light in color, and then you have pr...

This is something I can understand. Even in Paris, it is difficult to found. I had to order it in a small independent rhum shop. RL Seale is out from the main distribution channels. ...

My gateway rum back in college was... Captain Morgan Private Stock! It was the classiest spirit any of us had seen - I was Mr popular letting friends try it. Guessing it was 5x most sugar bombs, but we were coming from Long Islands, so probably tasted quite dry to us :)...

Hello everyone! I started my Agricole journey for about two years ago. Below I give you the list of the Agricole’s I have right now on my shelf. I can tell you that their all good and some are extraordinary. I of course know that some of them are hard to get and that some of them are rather expensive. I have put a * after a few that’s very good and possible to find to a reasonable price. Guadelo...

I know where your comming from. It is like me trying to people explain that Leonardo Di Vinci, should be known as Leonardo Di Bacchereto. Because there is potential evidence he came from Bacchereto, and only went to Vinci to have more space. Allegedly, those who in the local councils who control the Tourist Vinci franchises and outlets, gaining great revenues, are also the same people who are...

Has anybody on this site tried this rum? I have an opportunity to purchase some but I can't find information about it except that its a Dutch independent bottling (the Little Distiller). I'm particularly interested in tasting notes and opinions on it. Cheers......

Andy: It also may be related to one spending too much on a rum and then failing to admit to themselves that it was a waste of money. My first sip is always done with a clear head. Later sips don't always get that benefit and my impressions can become brutally honest. Thanks to these reviews, most of my new purchases are expected to rate at a 6 or higher unless it is a total gamble on a rum w...

Before I found this site, I found their reviews from the three of them quite amusing. But up in Seattle where they were based, rums are quite expensive and I am sure that those silly costumes were not cheap either. I guess that they realized that they could not compete with us!...

Hey Sandri, So it's funny, I do not normally like sweet things, but I am drawn to sweet and flavourful rums. My "house" rum, which I keep in an unmarked crystal decanter is Diplomatico ER. It is a very sweet one, but using that as a base I would like to recommend a few of my fav's. -(One thing of note, is that everyone has different tastes and things they like. I LOVE this website, but it has...

You need to get with the times, I was the last person I know to get a cell phone and even I have had a smart phone for 4-5 yrs now LOL. I'm still using a laptop I bought in 2010. No mistake on the coloration, that seems to be the convention for coloring labels. Pasote is the same . https://www.maxliquor.com/product-p/pasote-tequila-set.htm ...

Jagsroy: Once your cabinet is properly ordered from your laptop, each new rating will appear at the very left of your top shelf. These can then be individually moved to where they belong via your laptop until the IOS problem is fixed. After this, you will have no more problems. I became a Premium member because I love this website. Then the option of ordering one's cabinet became an option. ...

Thanks for the reply Tony. It was the same way back in '07 when the missus and I were on a cruise and stopped in Negril. I actually bought a bottle of Mt Gay Tricentennial in this little hole in the wall shop just outside the tourist area.....maybe will just ask for an Appleton's 12 year....
