I think it’s ok. It’s a database to share your impressions and experience of a certain rum. Or like kudzey said as a warning. If there are some ingrediencies from the sugar production its ok. I already added rum made from beet-molasses or with parts of rice....

Best glass for sipping rum

Posted 3 Oct '21 by KittieKatt 🇺🇸 | 14 ratings

So we had some fun and poked around thrift and antique stores yesterday in search of our new favorite glass! lol We found a bunch that we loved and we tried the tulip style and the sniffer style.. It was kinda neat to try the same rum in both.. We poured some Don Pancho 18 yr in both glasses and let it breath for a couple minutes and then tried it!! The tulip one boosted the spice and bold...

Rum journey and why price is not an issue

Posted 11 Oct '21 by Tony Sanders (PREMIUM) 🇺🇸 | 81 ratings

As PaulB states Louisiana does not allow samples or shipping. My journey like his is tracking down rums or experiencing them while traveling. I have focused on tasting the higher end rums I can find. The last one took driving to Houston 300+ miles to one store only to find out it was only in stock at a store 30 miles away in driving rain and heavy traffic. I am sure others have to face such obst...

I found a bottle in my great-uncle's loft

Home experiment with a maple bullet

Posted 5 Sep '21 by Althaur 🇺🇸 | 21 ratings

I found the “bullets” on Amazon. They came in a pack of three; oak, cherry wood, and maple. They are just carved into the shape of a bullet, making it easy to drop into a bottle with a bit of fishing line for retrieval. I didn’t char the wood, although I think the oak is slightly charred. ...

My final odds for 7 ratings or higher based upon price group

kudzey: I created a composite image that I just discussed, since this site only allows one image per response. I am now also in hurricane preparation for possible landfall near me on Monday morning. A lot could change in the forecast track by then, and I may have to evacuate with my dog if it becomes a Category 3 or higher (125 mph or more if I remember correctly). A minimal requirements of a rating

Cool, I agree that people should be allowed to rate but if there is no text, their rating should not be displayed. For me the textless ratings could still count to the average scoring. I'm not sure about length weighting, too easy to manipulate. Weighting by likes could be more meaningful, but I think it's redundant anyway....

Why are Foursquare ECS rum rated so highly?

Jimmy: Since you liked JM Rhum XO, I can wholeheartedly recommend JM Rhum 10 Year from 2008. I just bought my fourth bottle yesterday for $110 from Total Wine. It is worth about twice the price of their excellent XO. As for Clement, their Homere is a very unique and super smooth agricole at about $93 US. I have several of those bottles stashed away.. It is also one of the few rums whereby the ru...

Maybe they "improved" it for the mass market with sugar, to make it milder. Could be the right decision to increase the sells. Of course not the right decision for pure rum drinkers, but it was always a rum for the mass market. It's from a multicolum distillation, far from great but also not bad. Havana Club has so few flavors that a special barrel probably won't play a major role. It's more label marketing. Many collaborations also have no relation to rum. Collectible rums versus premium drinking rums

Everything from postage stamps to stones are collected. A category of collectible rums fits neither into the old classifications by colors or regional styles nor into the modern Gargano classification.
