Barcelo Gran Anejo

Not a good sipping rum but works very well as a mixing rum.

Kind of rum that has nothing special but can be a solution in a club that only offers crap as it isn't bad. Strong alcohol taste, not well balanced, only for mixing. For Cuba libre this rum is somewhere in between Brugal XV (a bit better as smoother) and Havana 7 in my opinion

Pretty good, notes of coffee and toffee. Not that big of a burn.

Had this in Mexico it was this or matusalem 10 year old having had matusalem before went for barcelo however would prefer matusalem but this is still ok slightly rough to start but get a good sweet flavour from it it's a good price for what it is

This rum has a lighter after taste. Not smooth but not strong

A beautifully smooth, sweet Dominican rum from Ron Barceló, Gran Añejo is a perfect mixer and works tremendously well in a variety of dark rum cocktails, or you could just have it with a few ice cubes and a squeeze of fresh lime.

This was my first sipping rum. It got me interested in exploring rums.

A very pleasant sipping Rum, great quality for the price and a smooth 37.5%. Strong hints of Chocolate and less of Coffee. You can't go wrong for the price.

Meegenomen van vakantie naar de Dominicaanse Republiek. Op zich niet gek, maar soms tikje wrang en niet helemaal mijn smaak. Een 6,5 zou het zijn voor mij. Ook goed voor in de mix.

Sa robe est or pâle.

Au nez, l’impression est sèche. L’arôme dominant est nettement le caramel. Viennent ensuite des notes torréfiées de chocolat. Pour finir une touche vanillée apparaît. L’ensemble est relativement frais.

En bouche, l’attaque est souple mais sèche, ici pas de sucre. On retrouve les mêmes marqueurs qu’au nez. Le chocolat et le caramel font cependant jeu égal. Bien que la bouche soit plutôt légère, les arômes ne sont pas si timides que ça.

La finale est assez longue et toujours sèche. Les mêmes notes demeurent et un boisé discret pointe le bout de son nez.
