The color of the rum is gold. And has a very molasses type smell people talk about some sort of funk. But I am unable to smell these type of things but what I can tell you what it has is a molasses smell. It is a super strong rum and I’ve tried it so far with Coca-Cola and when you mix it with Coca-Cola it taste kind of like whiskey and Coke. I mixed it with goslings ginger beer and it emboldens the ginger beer. This is a very very good rum. And can last you a long time because a little goes a long way with this stuff. If you’re going to mix it with eggnog or any mix drink a little goes a long way. I stress saying this. Because people who don’t know or are not used to it just think that they can drink it like a regular rum. And you cannot do it like that. Had it again a couple of days ago with Coca-Cola, and a squeeze of lime, and it is one of the most excellent rum and cokes I’ve ever had.

Heavy funk on the nose, overripe banana, apple juice, burnt rubber and molasses, on the palate starts as sweet pineapple marmalade with mashed banana, turning towards bitter grapefruit and molasses, simple but strong, the aftertaste is long, fruity, with an acohol afterburn. When I tasted it first time, I did not realized this is an overproof rum so I thought - quite a strong afterburn wo got here, but when I realized this is 57%, I thougt - well, the afterburn is actually more than ok. It is a young, bitter sweet wild beast, well worthy my pocket flask to spice a cup of tea on an autumn afternoon walk.
Seriously, I don't think it's very high in esters, I guess about 200/hlaa. I don't even think it's strong enough.
Caramel, oak, bright yellow fruit aromas like mango pineapple banana, but too concentrated, like only one or two esters.
Damn, it was so sweet, like extra sugar was added. I can't stand such a sweet wine.
Of course, considering it's so cheap, ¥235, it's definitely worth the money.
Loved the colorful reviews here and decided to try it... and initially this was some real nasty stuff.
Kind of sweet, but not in a good way. Smelled like gasoline, tasted like rotten fruits mixed up with your local bar's toilet water.
Not even that good for drinks, as it overpowered everything.
But since it wasn't my favourite, it lasted a month in my fridge... and then, a miracle! Taste of raisins overpowered my pallet, hints of banana, cheesecake and maybe even some vanilla. Had to raise the rating from 3 to 6.

I find it to be a pleasant addition to my collection. The taste travels well on your palate making it enjoyable to either sip or mix. I prefer to mix with it though. It’s a must have if you are thinking of building your own home tiki bar
