Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.
This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

I liked this rum but there is better out there for the price imo.
A good solid dark gold colour, new bottle first splash neat, sweet, dark sugar flavours. Nice
My go to is Appleton 12yo
Incredibly smooth and easy drinking. This is always my go-to for a a consistently delicious sipping rum. The taste is very natural and not overly sweet.
This rum is definitely worth drinking... smooth and no aftertaste... recommended...
Really enjoyed this rum. Great aroma and taste. Great neat or over ice. Just became a part of my cabinet.
This is a rum you can sip or mix and you will be happy with both
I would still prefer Diplomatic or El Dorado but this is a fine choice.
I was surprised by aroma when botle was opened. Wery intense tropical smell. Definetly want try again
I drank this mixed at a Venezuelan wedding, had probably 20 rum and cokes that night. But I couldn't stop! Tried it many times after as a sipping rum. Also very enjoyable!
Très bon rhum de dégustation veilli avec le système solera.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose there’s a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Got two bottles: Santa Teresa and Bacardi from the same price league. Not trying to comparing their taste side by side, instead just some emotions.
Ladies first - ST: wow effect at the first touch, but it gets continue just fine.
Mister B: strong man, kicks a bit with alcohol, but later develops wow effect.
At the next night I preferred to stay with Bacardi.
Both are great, smooth and entertaining. Score 8
